I have an irate customer that I have not sent her item. She indicated before she ordered it was for a surprise birthday party, would I send to a different addres. I agreed. When the paypal notification came, it had her original address. I emailed her back via ebay, asking for correct info to which she didn't respond. Now she wants to know where her stuff is. She claims she put the address in the "notes" section of her paypal payment. My email notification copy shows no notes section. I know it used to. I see no notes section when I go directly to paypal site and pull up her transaction. Anyone else see a "notes" section in their paypal transactions?

it is still there, but you have to click on a URL that says: leave seller a note
or something like that. They will show up on your emails and your paypal site. Or at least they do on mine.
I make a point of checking each paypal to make sure there is no note: like ship flat, hold til we are back from vacation, email me if you have more..etc.
It is just much harder to find the leave a note link. No box like there used to be.

you mean we have to click some kind of link to see a note on the PayPal notice? I did not know that and may be missing them.

OTH, there is a way to totally avoid this in the future.
I require thar the buyer update both the ebay address during checkout and the PayPal ship to address if they want the package shipped to anything other than their address on record.
If you chose to ship to an address that the customer put in the note section, you will void YOUR Seller Protection.
PayPal now allows up to 26 "gift" addresses in the user profile so there is no excuse (other than laziness) for the buyer to not have the correct address included in the payment.
I'll even give you a freebie. This is part of the note I send when a buyer asks for an shipping to a different address:
...
Log into your PayPal account and click on "Profile Summary"
Under Account Information, click "Address"
Click "ADD",
Add the address you want the order shipped to.
Click Save
Return to "My Account"
Under "Recent Activity" you should see a button to pay for your order. Click the button and follow the directions given. PayPal should now accept your payment your payment and you can select the alternate address for delivery...

are the 'gift addresses' confirmed?
Does paypal extend seller protection if we ship to a 'gift address'?
I have a buyer who does not use credit card to make payment, and has not registered his credit card with Paypal, just his bank account and so,his address is not confirmed.
How can he confirm his address?

So that explains what happened to me today. I had someone pay in Candian dollars a week ago, and I mailed it to the Manitoba address on the payment invoice. Today, I receive another payment in US dollars for the same items with a completely different name and an address in British Columbia. I had no idea what was going on, but when I checked the first invoice in my Paypal account, sure enough there is the BC address. I have never checked to see if there is a different address on Paypal, and the buyer certainly didn't mention sending it to another address.

Thank you for your interest. Protection for unauthorized payments is not yet available to everyone. We'll contact you as soon as it is available to you.
