Long time since we had one of these threads. Weather is gorgeous! Lots of yard sales.

We got an Acu-Massage today for $20.00!

I didn't go to any yard sales today - but two weeks ago there was a community wide sale nearby. My best find was a Fenton white hobnail cake plate for $5.00.

Cherished: How could you tell it was a Fenton plate? I see lots of white hobnail but never know if it's old or newer. There usually isn't a maker's mark.

We are vacationing is AR, TN and TX this week. Husband doesn't brake for garage sales.

They got about 2 feet of snow at home yesterday and today.

I am so tired of snow. It'd better be melted next week or Steve will have a heck of a time getting me on that airplane!

I feel your garage sale pain, Ewora.

I'm getting ready to move and we're planning our own garage sale so I am not allowed to shop either.

It's killing me. It's almost 1:00 pm here but I can still hear the good stuff calling my name.

I've run across a few pieces of white hobnail that is marked with the Fenton name. Even then, white hobnail doesn't seem to sell very well.

I'm very, very smart Roadsmith.

Actually, it had the Fenton logo stamped into the bottom of the stand. I looked it up when I got home - I've forgotten now exactly when it was made, but it was either in the 50s or 60s.

Blueyes - I haven't sold it yet, but I have high hopes. There are a few collectors of Fenton milk glass that frequent a b&m mall that I'm in.

I had a WONDERFUL day. 1st sale I got 2 large bags full of vintage lingerie (including 3 Lucie Ann full length nightgown sets) and a few prom & party type dresses from the 50's and 60's. Beaded sweaters and a really cool plant table.
I hate selling clothes but I couldn't pass this stuff up - most of it's in mint condition.
Next sale 2 Gorham Sterling salt dishes for $5.00. Then it was down hill from there but I'm happy. Besides it was a beautiful day.

If it had the Fenton mark, it was made in 1970 or later. Before that date, Fenton did not mark their pieces. I have bought and sold a lot of Fenton and with that experience and my research, you kind of get to know what Fenton looks like. Having said that, I've been wrong on more than one occasion.

I agree with blueeyes. Milk glass, Fenton or otherwise, is not a hot category at present, unless it is an unusual or rare piece.
