Hi everyone, does anyone know this silver mark on this brooch. It looks like SOM with 75 at the end and is marked 925. Also is this a Cherub,Cupid or maybe Diana goddess of the hunt (cause of the deer next to it). Thanks for any help !

Because the figure looks more childlike, I'd guess cupid. And doesn't it look like there's a I or 1 in front of the SOM?

Thanks roadsmith,I couldn't decide on what it was because of the deer. The spot in front of the SOM is so worn down there's no telling what it was. I thought it was just where they struck it in the making.

don't know the mark but the 925 is sterling silver. but they do mark sterling in the USA like that unless it is VERY so it is probably foreign.

toasted36, what does the clasp or pin look like on the back?? what type of closer does the pin have?? Just a hook or a lever that goes over the pin??

Cool pin! I think it's Diana. The face is young but it looks like she has breasts and a woman's thighs.
The 925-1000 board may be able to help. They also have an excellent library of marks though with not much to go on, ie: country of origin, it will require some time to search.

It is also holding a bow but that does not look like an arrow, does is also have a ring at the top so it can be worn as a necklace??

I think what she or he is holding is the strap from the thingie that holds arrows and is worn over the shoulder.
I'm sure it has a name but I have no idea what it may be.

toast, the mark looks much clearer with the shot you the pin, maybe to first one it too close?? Also I could not find the mark in my American marks book
