Good grief, I don't know what to do now. Sold a book tonight to a man in Puerto Rico, and he's paid through PayPal. PayPal says his address is "confirmed." Trying to print a shipping label, I'm getting the message that the address is not a valid one. I've e-mailed the buyer but in the meantime I wonder if this is a glitch or there's something I just don't know. Here's the page, and please note it's listed as "confirmed":

Hi Roadsmith,

I'm not sure how much help I'm going to be...but I'm up : )

I've had the same type of address problem a number of times.

Are you trying to access/buy the label through Paypal? What I do if I have a problem w/ PP, is go over to USPS.com and try printing the label there. For some reason I can usually sneak it by the later when I can't get it through PP. Sometimes I'll have to tweak the address a bit...but I usually always end up w/ a printed label and have never had a package returned.

Thanks. So odd! Paid through PayPal with a confirmed address but problems. Whatever is wrong with PP?

A confirmed address is just an address where he receives his cc statement,the way a person address is confirmed is by comparing the numeric portion of his address to the numeric portion of the address he received his monthly credit card statement-street number and zip code,the rest is ignored.

why not try changing '702 Ca. Arabia, altos '.

Take out the '.' behind Ca or write out the whole word whatever Ca stands for and remove the ',' behind Arabia?
Did you try looking up his address and figure what abbreviations stand for?

Go to the USPS site and go to the help section and type in shipping to Puerto Rico.

It can be tricky sometimes as their addresses aren't like ours in many cases. They have zones (for lack of a better term) and the sites, especially PayPal, but usps too can think an address isn't correct when it really is. The help section should be able to steer you in the right direction to be able to print a label that will make it there.

Try it without the punctuation.

ca. could be the problem.

And, you might have to put a space before PR

I called PP support one day when I was having problems and they told me to remove and periods or comas and it worked fine when I did.

CALLE is STREET in SPANISH. It is like when we write MAIN ST.

CA. = CALLE
ST. = STREET

the two zipcodes are so close(00920 & 00921) that a rezoning took place...
