Oh great, I just noticed on a couple of my auctions the little 'free shipping' dot shows up. No way did I say that, in fact I have a calculator which is working just fine thank you. Want to bet that on my heaviest item they will expect free shipping and neg me if I don't. Too bad, I am not shipping 7 pounds for free!

I just saw the same thing on one of my items with calculated shipping.

My description describes the shipping costs and so does the info on the bottom of the page. I am not offering free shipping on this item or any others!!

It's happening to a LOT of sellers.

Ebay is "aware of the problem" but sadly, this awareness does not yet include the courtesy of a system announcement.

Interesting that the problem is not constant. Some buyers see the message on a listing and others will not see it on the same listing.

I am wondering if this is a glitch with calculated shipping. Has anyone seen it on fixed price?

I have a peeve with calculated shipping already. Did you know that when you use calculated shipping, your listing is often at the bottom of the search list? If potential buyers are not logged into ebay, shipping will either be displayed at the highest amount or not displayed at all.

If you are getting requests for shipping quotes and the listing has calculated shipping, you can tell the buyer to log into ebay to be able to see the shipping amount. Which is a little ironic since they have to log in to be able to send you the question.
