I have a buyer who won his item on Sat. He paid on Sat.

My auction states that I do not ship on Sat or Mondays. Last night I sent him an email with all information about his item being shipped today which is Tue.

Also in my email I have listed the new feedback rules just as information for those buyers that are not familiar with the new system,

I receive this email from him this morning.

OK, I don't appreciate you sending a copy of ebay's how to leave feedback with your email. Not only does ebay take care of this very well, I have done this many times before. I could also be cranky at waiting this long to send, shipping delay. I realize it was most likely to let paypal funds clear, yet again my feed back speaks for itself.

My reply to him:
You want to let me know what your talking about?

There is no delay in your shipping, you paid on Sat Oct 18th Post office is closed on SUNDAY, and if you read my auction you would have seen that I do not ship on MONDAYS, so your item is right on time since today is TUE and it is shipping. . Paypal does not hold my funds for clearing I just don't ship on Mondays as stated in the auction.

There is no delay as you say, you just did not read my auction shipping information. As listed in the auction there is NO shipping on Sat or Mon.

I will apologize to YOU if my information about leaving feedback has offended you but it was not directed At YOU, it has been added to my emails since many other bidders do not understand how the new system works. Again I am sorry if you took it personally, it was just information on the new feedback system. I am not telling you how to do anything I was just explaining the new system, please don't take it personally it was not mean to offend you in any way, I hope you will understand that.

My point is The buyers know they have us over a barrel and they display this power the way this guy has done. If he decides to Neg me for NO reason then I will report him but I already know that he will ruin my DSR rating because of his attitude and his display of power which he knows he has over us sellers. Plus I did everything right according to my auction listing, he is the one Who Can Not READ.....

the worst part about the DSRs is when ebay finally enforces the 4.3 or lower...WHICH IS TOTALLY WRONG....

If you have a 4.3 or lower in ANY of the four DSRs, they are threatening to STOP you from listing.

I don't give two XXXXX about the discount...it is their ability to all of a sudden say you can't list items because of butt holes like you have give you 1s.

thats exactly right rhpepsi,

Right now my DSRs are high and my discount is 20%, all it takes is ONE idiot like this one to determine my future.

You could be the best seller out there and have a few buyers that have a feather up there ##S and poof your a gone.

Boy is that the truth!! I got dinged with a negative and "bad stars" by the buyer who was unhappy with his mugs. I offered a full refund plus shipping even though I thought he was pulling a switch - he refused to return the mugs and wanted a refund and to keep the merchandise. He gave me a negative and ruined my 100% positive rating, then he dinged my stars and I was kicked out of raised search. He said it was too much trouble to return the items - just credit his paypal account. The buyers sure have us over a barrel. I have just about given up listing - I have 3733 positives and one a**hole like this can mess everything up. I am very discouraged.

I'm hearing from all over these days that buyers are pushing back on the "Leave FIVE STARS!" messaging.

I'd tried it for a month, found it did not work and abandoned it.

rhpepsi:

This is based on your 30 day DSRs, so if your sales volume is so low that 1 idiot can make a difference, you probably won't be blocked from listing for very long.

Also, eBay rounds, so a 4.25 is considered a 4.3.

If you think you are close to being blocked, a good idea is to start another selling ID NOW and hold it in reserve.

I was very concerned about being blocked because of the fourth DSR, but now that I offer free shipping on some items the number is well out of the danger zone. And apparently eBay will be adding a message to the feedback process that reminds buyers they received free shipping (can't recall where I read that).

Well I'm going to take that info out of my emails since buyers are so touchy and take everything so personal these days.

I also have a guy who made me an offer on a toy truck and I accepted his offer. He emails me saying: forget about my offer my wife said we don't have the money. well, duh, don't you know what is going on in your own home?

I have filed more NPB this month then I have filed in all the 10yrs of selling.

1. If it was an auction win, why have auctions ending on Saturday if you don't ship on Monday? That's just teasing the bear.

2. Just add a section to your email that strokes the ego of experienced eBayers but informs others. Something along the lines of: "Since there are varying levels of experience with eBay, this short paragraph is intended to help those who don't understand the feedback system. blah blah blah"

<Right now my DSRs are high and my discount is 20%, all it takes is ONE idiot like this one to determine my future>

You are so right toni.
I too have been a good little eBayer with consistent 4.9 DSR's, 20% discount, 100% feedback, etc.

Woke up yesterday to find all my 30 day DSR's red-lined below eBay's average...
sales have been slow, and there was only new feedback since last week...so that was all it took.

I fumed for a while and paced with fear of being restricted like others I have read about on the powerseller boards, but there is nothing I can do about one nut. Damage is already done. What really gets me is there was no complaint, no problem indicated and she referred me in her lukewarm positive FB as a "high volume seller"! Hardly!

Drafted an email asking her politely and professionally what the prob. was, but decided to just let it go and keep my fingers crossed that it's effects would be minimal and hopefully offset by a few quick 5's.

Okay, I am taking a deep breath and letting go of it again....

Regards,
Susan

Amazon is the same way with the restricting of selling if "low" customer service....ONE BIG DIFFERENCE...you can actually contact the buyer that left you the bad review and get it removed. I had a few on Amazon that the buyer jumped the gun and filed claims, after explaining whatever the problem was, they removed the claim and everything is fine.
Ebay...you have;

NO CLUE who left the bad DSRs
NO PROOF that it was even a buyer
NO MATHEMATHICAL METHOD in processing them.
I think they have a little jar next to each of our names and say -"hmm...should we pull the red flag today or the green one..."...WAIT!! -- save the two red ones for the DAY BEFORE the discount hits!"

The DSR thing stinks, we can all agree on that! I got the 20% discount last month and was set to get it again this month until the last day of my invoicing period when my cost star went down to 4.8. How convenient for that to happen right at that time when no one left feedback that day. Hmmmmm.

Cheryl,

Hmmmmm, I guess it means a DSR rolled off that day. Unless you think eBay is cheating on this, in which case I'd pack up and go elsewhere.

I know that cash. I'm being sarcastic. If a DSR is going to roll off for me it will do it when I'm due for discount calculations! LOL! It's been that kind of month so far.

Cheryl, you realize how it works; no offense intended. I just see a lot of suspicions floating around that eBay arbitrarily changes DSRs right before billing time. It's a bit like casinos; they don't have to cheat, the rules and odds are stacked in their favor as they are.

Sarcasm is getting harder and harder to spot on this forum as people are overwhelmed by eBay's arbitrary and rapid rule changes.

In line with your thought that the DSR rolls off right before the bill, I think that perhaps I should have done the patriotic thing and sold my stocks a while ago. It is absolutely a given that the day after I sell my stock, the market will go up 25%.
