I am already sick and tired of having to answer buyer emails asking me if I will accept checks and money orders. Do you think we can have an FAQ stating that we will accept checks and money orders? It seems to me that if people are about to email you and elect to see the FAQ, then they are in the process of asking whether they can send a check. IT sure would save time!

I decided to start saving the emails - I'd love to send them to the idiot who thought of this paperless payment requirement.
I thought they were going to have a big announcement so the buyers would understand that it is not the sellers who have changed but eBay. Did they do that?
Here are the emails from tonight:
10/23:
Mary: I bought a Long Beach postcard from you last month. I did note that Paypal only was accepted but asked you anyway if with my excellent feedback you would consider other payment form such as a check or??? You said you would take a check and sent me the vintage Long Beach Skyline post card. Now I have seen a couple more of your Long Beach listings that I would like to buy now but I will not use Paypal. Would you accept a check from me again for the other cards? thank You xxxxxx (FB 600)
10/23
Q: Would you accept a MO for this item? We do not use paypal on the advice of our bank. Thanks. Tony (FB 869)

I wonder if they are going to block out buyer's ability to say they are sending a check or MO at checkout? It was still an option today. If they are going to leave it in, perhaps we could say, If you need to make other arrangements, please indicate at checkout.

Being the good little ebay citizen that I am, (and since Vendio defaulted the payment choices on listing form to PayPal only), I have not had checks and money order options available on my listings since mid-September. I don't think buyer can indicate he/she will be sending payment at checkout if it's not an option. I never paid any attention to that anyway.

The PayPal thing is not mandatory yet so I see no problem in putting alternate payment methods in your FAQ. Sure beats revising store listings again just to delay those questions for a few months.
I know you two have thousands of listings but I emptied my store and am just selling small stuff now. I went back to putting checks and money orders on my listings a few weeks ago.
An interesting note that may be coincidence but my I used to get about 3-5% mailed payments and this month it has been closer to 50%. Makes me wonder if more people are boycotting PayPal. In my off-ebay sales, 90% are Goggle checkout with the remainder money orders and PayPal.

Too bad, I did not know Vendio has already removed the options. You can still select money order or check payments when you list directly on eBay.

Ray - Vendio just unchecked the boxes for other payment methods. We can check them when we list.

I think we've discussed this before. . . . Can we have a line in our auction description asking potential buyers to contact us about payment methods?

It seems they also took your street address out of the invoice...just city and state are listed....Unless I changed something by accident.

Roadsmith - no line in your description and no emails initiated by you or notes in your checkout instructions.

rhpepsi is right, If Paypal is the only one that is checked, your address no longer shows on the invoice. I added custom text to invoices in my marketing preference inviting buyer to continue shopping and signed with my name and address.

yeah..I took out the checks and money orders and a buyer kept sending me emails wanting my mailing address. I sent her two or three invoices before I finally read one and saw they took out the street. I don't think I would mind so much if it wasn't for the fact that ebay is double dipping with both sets of fees. ebay..YOU OWN PAYPAL and PREFER IT...FINE...have one set fee and don't double charge us!
