And I have a question. If I want to list an item for 1 week, ending at 7 pm Sunday 11/2, do I list it this week before Sunday at 8 pm? Or vice versa? Every time I get confused.

Me too Roadsmith, I know the clock falls back, but do you think I can work out the times?

Ebay has a history of confusing the issue:

Mike, yes, I know about spring ahead, fall back. But can you tell me how to list an item today or tomorrow that I want to end at 7 pm in November? I do not want the item to end at 6 pm when we "fall back."

If my calculations are right, and I'm very challenged in this area, I should list at 8 p.m. Just not sure.

Pixi, I do not believe that most buyers look at the time remaining instead of the actual time an auction ends. I make notes on ending time and make sure to bid close to that end. Not that I'm the expert on that, though, LOL.

Buyers in Hawaii and the Aleutian Islands do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

You should schedule for one hour later than you want it end. So 8:00 for a 7:00 finish.

"Daylight Saving Time (DST)

Daylight Saving Time (DST), involves moving clocks forward one hour in the Spring (currently on the second Sunday in March) and moving clocks back one hour in the Fall (currently on the last Sunday in October). When you list items on eBay during these time changes, it may appear that you lose an hour in March or gain an hour in October on your listing. This is because eBay listing durations are always in whole-day increments.

For example, on the Saturday of DST in October, you list an item in Auction-like format for a 1-day duration at 12:00 p.m. Your listing will end at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. If you schedule your listings to end at specific times, please take into consideration Daylight Saving Time. We recommend that you do not schedule your listing to end at 2:00 a.m. on the day (in Spring or Fall) with a time change."
