The website says that he swapped this v8Hemi in for a hybrid after receiving criticism for his gas guzzling ways in 2007.

Thanks for sharing, that is a pretty funny picture. I can't exactly imagine Barack punching the gas and revving up a big classy looking sedan like that, it's too bad he didn't keep it anyway.

Reminds me of this episode of 'Top Gear' (UK car guy show) where they took a Prius around a track as quick as it could go and followed it around with a BMW M3 with a 414 HP V8 in it. The Prius got 17.2 MPG and the BMW did better 19.4 MPG.

It just shows that it's more about 'how' you drive than what you drive that makes the real difference. Of course if you drove your Prius the same way as they did that BMW and not all out the whole time, it certainly would have done at least double the MPG than the BMW did.

Unfortunately politics is a lot more about image than it is about reality and I suppose some would have had a field day with that story had he kept it.

(edited to fix the mpg numbers)

I like the question at the bottom of the auction where the moron asks if the car has been smoked in....

I might pay 10-15 times the car's book value, long as it hasn't been smoked in...uh huh.
