THANKS to all for the kind posts; emails; and phone calls...

To make a long story short:

SUNDAY after THANKSGIVING, I ate a bottle of LYRICA + assorted other pills, and called my kid to have him pick up Ralphie. Seemed like a good idea at the time (LOL!), but my kid called the cops instead of just coming for my roomie, and I woke up 2 days later & spent a fun 10 days in the looney bin...

Now, me & Ralphie are wearing out our welcome at my kid's house, trying to put my worthless life back together...

Soon, feeBay will throw me off, but, that's OK, as all my stuff is in a storage bin anyways...

Ralphie is confined to his cage...The first night he was here, I guess he had an accident...So, I take him out 6-7 times per day...Strangely, his tummy problems have cleared up almost 100%...WOW!

As I told the shrink, EVERYTHING just collapsed in my life, and I wasn't depressed, JUST TIRED of the whole mess...The constant physical pain and the constant stress over money; plus the shame of letting down some nice folks here who had helped me out...

But, it really upset my 15 yo grandaughter, Victoria...She & I have been very close since she was born, and she was very upset with me, so I won't be pulling any stunts again...

Now, just trying to find a nice and cheap place for me & Ralphie; a FIRST-FLOOR sumptin that we cn afford that's closer to my kid and his family...And SOON too so they don't grow weary of us...

Not sure if I'll ever sell on eBay again...Gotta take it one day at a time...

To all the nice people who helped me in the past that I let down: MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES...To those who no longer talk to me because I let them down: I DON'T BLAME YOU & HOPEFULLY, someday, Ralphie & I will be back on our feet & in a position again to make things right...

To ALL HERE ON VD:

Have a SAFE & HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

Tom & Ralphie

Tom, please don't feel you have let anyone down. You have kept going for a long time in pain and with many struggles, and I don't think anyone will critisize you for what you did. No one can know what it's like to be in your shoes. I live with pain, and the days and nights can be very long. I am glad your kid took you in. Just remember, you do have friends, and you have Ralphie who loves you unconditionally. I just pray that 2009 will bring you new hope, and a good place to live.

Tom I'm right here in Jacksonville if you ever need to call. You have my number don't you? I'll email it to you just in case.
I don't have all the answers but my friends say I have a good ear.

Tom - We've already talked so you know how I feel. You have my number so don't be too shy to use it. Maybe you and Ralphie can take a trip up here in the spring to visit. You really don't want to come now. It's 8 degrees outside. BRRRRRRRRRRR! I know from first hand experience that life can sometimes feel so very overwhelming. Thank God for my family and friends who have always helped me out of a mess. We're here for you (and Ralphie, too, of course).

EDITED TO ADD: You have let NO ONE down, Tom. We all fall at some point in our lives and we all need to be picked back up. I'm just glad I could help the little that I did.

speechless.

tom. I once dated a guy whose Father committed suicide and he never got over it and never understood it. So Victoria and your son don't deserve that.

Obviously you are meant to be here and meant to have a purpose whether you know it or not.

You haven't let anybody down so quit beating yourself up.

It's time for a new start and a new year. It's so great that you are in a place surrounded by family.

Take a deep breath and count your blessings - what ever they may be. No matter how small. Focus on them and they will grow.

Merry Christmas

TOM & RALPHIE....

You are welcome here...we have spare bedroom. Also have a storage unit that I was trying to empty. We have a small "zoo" already so Ralphie would fit right in with the dog, cat, hermit crab, goldfish and whatever other critters are running about. Shenandoah Valley weather here in Virginia isn't Florida weather...but still pretty nice.

When we hurt each other we should write it down in the sand, so the winds of forgiveness can make it go away for good. When we help each other we should chisel it in stone, lest we never forget the love of a friend.

YOU & RALPHIE have MANY MANY FRIENDS here....with that WE can accomplish anything.

Be SAFE

I am so glad you are sorting things out now and have the support of family. Take care of yourself and that little black and white rascal and have a calm and safe Christmas and Happy New Year. 2009 is a new start...for all of us.

Tom, you have Ralphie and your family and, as you can see the eBay Outlook bunch here really cares about you. Take care of yourself and don't add guilt to your other problems.

Post when you can to let us know how you are doing. Ralphie and you were missed around here. Hope 2009 will be a bright and happier year for you and your sidekick.

(((((Tom))))

You should never feel like you let anyone here down. That should be the least of your concerns.

Your grandaughter is one smart cookie.

I'm glad you got some help and are seeing things a lot clearer now.

Thank you for checking in...I've been thinking about you a lot lately.

Tom: I loved talking with you on the phone the other day. I just want you to know that I (and probably many others here) have been depressed--sometimes situationally, sometimes chemically--and somehow they get through it all. You are in my prayers, buddy. We DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOU. And what would Ralphie do?!

I'm very thankful that your son had the presence of mind to call the cops and that they got to you in time. I too hope next year is better for you. You'll be in my prayers.

Just saw your post. Holidays can make everything seem worse than they are.

You have so many friends here at Vendio that love you and Ralphie. Don't ever think of leaving us again.

I was so glad to see your post and know your both alright.

I think rhpepsi's invitation is the nicest, sincerest thing I've ever heard. Why don't you consider a visit. With all those animals I'd be there in a heartbeat, sounds like Heaven to me.

Tom,
So glad to "hear your voice!" I hope that when you read all these posts you remember something mister.... you have alot of people on this board who do care about you and are not "fair weather friends." AND BTW any "help" I (and I suspect many others)have offered was because I do consider you a friend and was not looking for future repayment! Good grief Charlie Brown let people just love you.

OK I'm finished

I am glad and grateful to you son for stopping you and helping you. Consider the "looney bin" a nice (as the Europeans say) holiday!
Love Bonnie
