I just had a buyer from San Salvadore win my auction. He wanted it shipped to his home country. I have a block put on all international shipping. I told the buyer the sale was void, I do not ship internationally.

How is it he was able to bid from san salvadore and got through my limited to the united states bidding.

Any ideas?

Hi,
if you do not want international bidders it has nothing to do with the shipping to USA only that is mentioned under the price.Ebay told me that that is just a recomendation and will not stop someone from bidding. To block bidders in foreign countries you need to go to the bidder requirement page,it is sort of hard to get to since you have to bring up edit twice. One you are there yopu can check off who is allowed to bid,it looks lie the verbiage below

Buyers in countries to which I don't ship
Block buyers who are registered in countries to which I don't ship.
This requirement can help you avoid buyers who agree to purchase your items without realizing you don't ship to their location.

Why not send him a Google Checkout invoice and complete the sale? Just go to the usps website and figure out the shipping cost and then add a three or four bucks for handling. He will pay it.

I have already got the massive block on all international shipping and bidders from other countries by ebay. There should be no way that this person should have been allowed to even place a bid. It blocks everyone else non-USA quite effectively. Just the idiot somehow has figured a way through, probably registered as a US citizen.

And I appreciate the suggestion to go ahead and send it to him, NO WAY!. I have a block, I have it clearly marked in my ads, no international bidders. I lose money on every one of these sales. I certainly do not want to encourage them.

I don't blame you, International sales can be a nightmare, plus they the bidders end up giving you crappy DSR's. He must be registered in the U.S. somehow with a relatives address. I had someone in Venezuela bid and win my item as he had registered using his nephews Florida address. I canceled the sale. He's sneaky, I wouldn't want to do business with him.
