Hi: I've tried to find out the changes in medial mail rates that are coming up; I understand that it won't be right away when all the other changes are being made.

I need to plan ahead on shipping a new book for our historical society and want the coupon to reflect that. Anyone have that info?

All the new rates are listed ion the USPS webpage. You can download them as HTML or Adobe Reader.

Hi, Merrie: I went to the USPS site and saw everything BUT the media mail rates; I'm sure that's because they aren't going up this month. But they're going up in the next few months, and I don't know where I can get that information now.

I even asked a question about media mail to the USPS customer service and got just what's going up this month, which doesn't include media mail.

roadsmith: the PO is really annoying a lot of people. More rate hikes in May with stamps, etc going up. It really is hard to keep track of everything. I am thinking of just going with calculated shipping in all my items, that way when the PO increases prices, it will automatically be reflected in my shipping quotes.

Roadsmith, from what I understand, the Postal Service is going to post a news release on their web site some time in February announcing the rate changes (which will go into effect in May).

I know First Class stamps are going up in May, and most likely bubble mailers and small boxes that are shipped by First Class Mail (under 13 ounces).

I'm not sure if Media Mail is going up, too, but if it is, the new rates should be mentioned in the February press release.

Northwoodsguy: I do understand that more announcements are coming, but surely someone at the p.o. knows what the new media mail rate will be? I guess they're just not telling us.
