I want to close my ebay store and I have ended all my store items to do this. I need to transfer this inventory to another ID and was wondering if I close the store if these listing will disappear? I plan to do a few items a day and don't want to take the chance of losing the information.
TIA

If you're using TurboLister you won't lose the item information since it'll still be in your database.
If you're using SYI to list, I'm not sure.
I'm closing my eBay store, too. It feels good! I'll be moving things to other formats before I close it, though.

If you use Vendio to list they will be in your unsold items list so you can change format and relist. I think I did read that your Store Format items do disappear from eBay when you close your store. I don't know if you can still import and back them up in TL (if you used SYI form to list) once they have ended, but maybe you can. I'd at least try to see if it works.

I have not used Turbo Lister in 8 years but maybe it's time to try again. Can I go from one ebay ID to another with it?
Thanks

Yes, you can do multiple id's.
I have learned to not trust TL. Had it lose or destroy my database more than once in the past so I keep an exported copy of the TL file saved to my desktop. It not only serves as my backup but also makes it easier to access my files using TL and any of my ebay IDs.

I had a TurboLister crash.
Restored from a TL backup and guess what? All ended auctions (except those closed auctions still on eBay) went away.
Since this was my prime reason for using TL in the first place I'm pretty upset. Nearly a year's worth of auctions is GONE.
Pray tell, what is the point of making backups if they don't preserve your ended auctions? You can always get the stuff that's still on eBay. You don't need to back that up.
I complained about this to support and they said there was nothing they could do.

Fluffy, that is exactly what I ran into and why I now save a file to my desktop, outside of the turbolister directory.
TL some how trashed everything in the TL directory when it crashed and I could not access the remaining files when I reloeaded TL. I was totaly POd and as usual, ebay could have cared less.

For those who have few listings or are starting over I recommend that you manage your listings from an Excel spread sheet on your desktop. Just match the column and upload through SMP or other listing import programs. I still have listings from 1999 that I can upload in bulk anytime I choose. You will never worry about restoring or retrieving your listings. Just backup your excel files. I keep two, One for active listings and one with sales history that includes buyers emails etc. Again this can all be uploaded in bulk from Vendio using the "closed" download to excel feature.

One of my goals is to not be a slave to Excel.
Yes, I know guys who love to spend hours poring over their spreadsheets. And yes, I know how to use a spreadsheet and I know how to use Excel. I simply choose not to.
Time spent trying to figure out why a formula doesn't work is time that could better be spent selling.
As it turns out, I found another way around the destruction of my ended auctions. For some reason TL restored a bunch of stuff (not all) to the Inventory tab.
