Emails from eBay always are addressed to your real 1st & last name not a user id.
there's a 104% chance this is a phishing scam.

And of course you did not access the link, but went directly to the ebay site, and attempted to log into your account. And ... you were denied access?

Yes, I went to my ebay account and saw that it was ok. I know not to click on links in emails but lots of new sellers might not know this and have lots of problems.
The email really looks like it came from ebay except for one thing, they didn't use my selling name they just used my email name in the body of the email.

I was getting so many of these kinds of notices that it made navigating my incoming emails next to impossible. I changed the email address I use for my ebay business and don't get them any more - not a single one in two years! I don't know if it's because the filters on gmail are superior to aol, or if my old email address was somehow compromised. I heartily recommend an email change if you are getting too many phishing emails. All you have to do is change your email address on eBay and add your new address to your PayPal account (I don't recommend deleting the old address on PP in case you have some outstanding payments coming in) - make sure you change address on Vendio and any other third party vendors too.
