Just received this from eBay .... Skype voice and chat buttons in listings are being discontinued.
"eBay is discontinuing Skype voice and chat buttons in listings as of June 10, 2009 in an effort to remove features with limited buyer and seller usage."
I have Skype services - both Skype In and Skype Out. I never had a call from an eBay buyer regarding my items. Apparently eBay buyers thought it was easier to use the cryptic eBay message system.
Of course, eBay ever fearful that there would be an off eBay sale consummated by Skype connected parties, never promoted the service.
On the other hand, Skype is an inexpensive dedicated phone service which I continually use for phone sales.

I considered a cell phone. After some consideration, I opted for the Skype service, and a Skype enabled telephone, USBd with my computer.
Inexpensive dedicated business phone, that is on, when I open my store in the morning (turn on computer), and is off, when I close my store in the evening (turn off computer).
It would be virtually impossible, nor would I want to take orders, when I am away from my computer, and unlisted inventory.

I know what you mean, Bill. I have a cellphone for the websites. But I don't take orders with it. They have to go through the ordering process online.
I don't mind answering it wherever I happen to be (usually), though if I'm at the gym doing biceps curls it's gonna have to wait until I'm done.
Most of my calls are people wanting to clarify something, like shipping method.
