I got an email from a buyer who wanted me to put a buy it now on a turkey call that I have up for auction. I said no thanks as I already had a bid (15 minutes after the auction started) and questions from others. This is the message I got back from her - by the way she has 2 positives and a 75 percent positive rate on eBay...

I am very sorry too hear that too, for E-bay agrees with me, more sellers are losing bids and business due too not being fair too all buyers. Most people cannot sit or watch a auction for 5 or 6 days, theirfore adding a buy it now or selling early makes for a sure sale and payment too, otherwise you are just gambling too see what you get and also will probably not get a sure payment too, most people change their mind or find another item for less money after they have bid or won this item, you have lost my business and family business now forever and that will cost you more money than you will ever make on this item.

Snotty, snotty snotty. Makes me really glad I decided not to do business with her!

I would block her as she sounds like trouble. How is selling to her fair to all buyers??

If you wanted to really get her rattled, email her back and tell her she should try something like e-snipe or better yet - just bid her max now and then forget about it.

Was that her spelling in the response? If so, she needs to refresh her use of the English language.

Yes, that was her spelling. I now know why she was so upset. The turkey call went from $7.00 to $41.00 within a few hours of being listed. Still have 6 days to go on the auction.

She? maybe she needs it to call her DH.

My hubby found it at a sale in Michigan. Lots more garage sales there than there are in Boulder.

That is always a clue, if someone is so eager to buy it, you know it is worth more than they are offering.especially is they "doth protest too much."

Your final price on this should be worth every penny as much as the satisfaction of telling the cranky customer to seek an attitude adjustment elsewhere.

I have sold several of the vintage lynch calls on ebay from $100 to over $200. Haven't listed any in the last year but if the market is holding, I suspect you might get as much as $325 or more for this one. Good catch!

It may have been fun to e-mail her and say that you would be delighted to put a 'Buy it Now' price on it and then put it at $500.00!

I wonder what her reply would have been then!

otteropp: I was thinking the same thing!!

Did she think you were stupid and was going to give it away!!

I might have been stupid because I actually considered a buy it now of $15.00 even though my policy is not to do buy it now once I have a bid. Fortunately, sanity prevailed and I checked others on eBay. It is now up to $102.00. I am doing a happy dance.

You must be getting happier and happier as each day goes by on this one!

I hope your cranky lady has this on her watch list!

SUPER!!
