AuctionBytes had somewhat in-depth coverage of this in the Nov. 11, issue.

"eBay Noticeably Absent from New Google Product Search Marketplace Program"

http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y09/m11/i10/s01

What I found interesting, was "Google had replaced Google Base with Google Merchant Center in September, and said it would begin requiring marketplaces to use multi-client accounts beginning December 1, 2009, and would retire the Google Base accounts of individual sellers who list on marketplaces in order to eliminate duplicate feeds."

Another reason to consider dropping multi-channel selling, as Google may soon eliminate duplicate listings posted by all the channels you are selling on. The same item on eBay, eCrater, and eBid, is not going to appear in search from all three.

I have been having a similar problem now, and have begun closing stores, so as to concentrate on just one store.

Also, from AuctionBytes 11/12/2009, which is also related to this thread -

"Google Expands Product Listing Ads in Time for Holiday Shopping"

http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y09/m11/i12/s01

"This CPA (Cost Per Action) model offers merchants a way to reach a larger audience on Google.com with none of the listing fees associated with ecommerce marketplaces."

This may be the answer for those who want to leave eBay.
