I'm no longer getting the save password option for a few sites - how can I add a password to my other saved passwords? I've looked everywhere and can't find it.
TIA

Go into tools >options> security
and check the box that says remember passwords

Thanks Toni but that is already checked.
I think I missed the option the 1st time I signed in to this site and now it won't ask me if I want to save it again.
I was hoping there was a way to just add some passwords.

That may work but I'm working on 2 computer (and 2 ID's) right now so I'll have to wait on that.
Never get a new computer during Christmas season!!!
I'm going to try clearing my cache and see if that does anything.
Thanks

Hello,
If you use FireFox and work on different computers from time to time, check out an extension for it called X-Marks. It will sync your bookmarkes (and if you opt to do so) and saved passwords, so regardless of where you last used FF from, it will update the other the next time you use it.
I use it on all my computers and absolutely love it. They have a version for Internet Explorer as well, for those who haven't (yet) switched.

Thanks Chris
I have Xmarks on my old computer and tried to log in using my new computer but I couldn't do it. Do I need to download xmarks first?

Hello,
You will need to download it on your new computer no matter what, but you will also need to be able to log into your account to get it to work. I would work out getting logged into the website first, as the username/password is going to be the same as when you setup the application.

If you happen to use Mozilla's Thunderbird program for email, there is another program you can use called Mozbackup - you can use it to backup all of your FireFox and Thunderbird stuff (including all of your old emails, contacts/etc) and then restore it onto your other machine.
X-marks works really well if you just need the favorites and passwords, but mozbackup is a must if you use thunderbird to for your email.

Chris - I can't thank you enough. I got all my bookmarks transferred but I'm still having some trouble with the passwords. I can log in to see them on my new computer but they aren't under tools - options etc. I can live with that but I'm sure there is something I have not done or done incorrectly.

Hello,
If you go to 'Tools + X-marks + X-marks settings' - then go to the 'sync' tab at the top, you should be able to check the box to include passwords in the sync.
You would first set this up on the computer that already has the passwords, so it can sync that data to x-marks - then do the same on the new machine so it brings those passwords and login's over to that computer as well.
You'll know you did it correctly the first time as it will make you create a PIN number to use, which you would have to enter when you set it up on the second machine for it to sync.

Chris
