Hi,my name's Mary and I've been reading this board since the "Bidbay" days, lol.
Anyhow,I brought some stuff home from my mom's estate,a lovely inlaid desk with a tall, legged matching dresser,a jade type vase and some other cool stuff. My mom and stepdad were well off and traveled a lot.I really wanted his Princeton year books, but my brother beat me to them, dang.
I live in NW Oregon(Forest Grove)and was wondering how I go about researching these things? They're temporarily stored in my foster daughter's garage.
I also recall someone on here who has a shop in Portland, don't remember who.Maybe he/she would be interested in checking them out?I do have pictures my uncle/executor sent me that I could send. Please contact me if you're interested.
And there's a small carved ebony double picture frame with a tintype in it.A beautiful but worn 2" pocket knife with 2 lions and a crowned shield, gold colored scroll work with a dragon's head against black enamel and markings I can't read.My stepdad was a doctor and I also came across some of his pins.
Sorry this is so wordy,I'm at a loss......these things have no sentimental value to me and I don't have the room in my 840 square foot house for the furniture.Only reason I took some things was because my siblings were, lol!

Welcome, Mary. Shag has a B +M shop, but it's mid-20th century. Perhaps he can guide you to reputable antique dealers. Edited to add: I've also forwarded your post to my sister in Salem who has a number of antique dealer friends.
