You may find the results interseting -

Merchants Rate Ecommerce Marketplaces

"In January 2010, AuctionBytes asked online sellers to rate 15 ecommerce marketplaces to find out which were the best venues on which to sell. Over 1,400 online sellers completed the survey - find out how the marketplaces stacked up - you may be surprised at which ones "

I was surprised to see Ruby Lane rank at the top. How many use Ruby Lane?

Rumor has it Ruby Lane put out the survey and respondents are mostly the same losers who comment on Ina's blog. Hardly representative.

Interesting read and Fluff's comment would certainly explain why such a category specific site as Ruby Lane would receive such a high rating. I might understand if RL had as broad of range of categories as Amazon but seriously, how can you even compare the 2?

You might be able to compare Amazon, eBay bonanzle, ecrater and blujay and then in a sub-category compare item specific sites such as RL and etsy but to put them all up side to side is misleading to the reader. It is like taking a survey of vehicle manufactures and including motorcyle manufactures and tractor manufacturers in with the automobile industry. You might get a good summary of who is running the most efficient operation but it really does not tell you much about which vehicle best suits your intended application.

I used to have a Rubylane store,I dont find it to be so great.
The two founders did spend a lot of time and money to promote the store,I think now they have gone back to IT work and leave the shop on auto pilot.
