Apparently, the eBay disruptions have also had an effect on Vendio.
I'm glad that every thing will continue in the same manner.
Now, we will be able to source the same fine Asian goods, and be competitive with those currently on eBay.
Sure is exciting, and may be helpful to everyone's business.

I suppose this explains why Vendio was sitting on their hands to create new improvements that kept pace with eBay's recent changes. As a consumer and business owner watching their bottom line, it is hard to justify paying the same fees for products that you already get through the main site (eBay) for free.
Maybe AliBaBa will bring some fresh ideas to the plate that can improve my bottom line, but until then I have no need for Vendio's listing services.

Thats great news for Vendio management, did it say how much?
I have bought from suppliers on Alibaba and another site similar.
My experience is terrible,I bought from this guy who has this website,a company name and remitting fund to China is a pain .
He took all the resin figurines and lumped them altogther and then bubblewrapped the whole thing, now in this country or any country you bubble wrapped each figurine, not lump them all together and then bubblewrapped all the figurines as one big ??glob?
then he put this big bubble in a supermarket plastic bag and then threw some peanuts or newspaper or more worn torn supermarket plastic bags in EMS box.
Of course it arrived with broken pieces, since they all claim to get a discount from their post office shipping their version of EMS ,the logical step will be to file insurance with the post office.
NO,they would not do so,my guess is that too many claims make them look bad with their post office,so?
Further dialogue revealed they dont really have a factory, what they do is to go to the factory and find whatever they can,in some cases, they have been layoff and these figurines are their severance pay.
Another case is an individual who claimed to be the middleman,he goes to the factory and the guy just picked out some pieces and he shipped them to me.
Of course they were not perfect so he went back and raised hell and demanded better pieces.
Such is life- small business USA meet small business China.
Good luck to you all, better read it fast before Vendio remove it.

I was in Asia 3 months ago and Chinese outside China who are used to order one of this,3 of that,10 of another are all told minimum quantity =400 for each style.
Now how many retailers can order 400 of each style, even wholesaler /importers dont have that kind of distribution prowness?
You will be stuck with 400 Happy Buddha raising one arm and 400 of Happy Buddha sitting with a fan and 400 of Happy Buddha smiles and sit with money bag!

The great thing about AliExpress is that you it's "on-demand" ordering process means you can order in much smaller quantities.
If you haven't already, check out the offer to get up to $100 free in AliExpress merchandise

In regard to wholesale sales from China, I wonder if the language barrier will be a significant problem. The forums related to Alibaba illustrate some translation problems, for example.

..used my coupons from Vendio (see the announcement) to buy 1 of this, 1 of that and 1 of something else. It cost a grand total of $4.65 after the coupons were applied (had to do 1order at a time to use the coupons). There was some stuff you had to get 10 of to be able to order any, but there's a ton of stuff with free shipping and no minimum order.

How about decreasing fees considering that many of the features that Vendio offered are now obsolete with eBay's recent update? it is hard justifying vendio fees when the only real benefit for me is scheduled listings.
when eBay charged for more than 1 pic, vendio was great. when eBay didn't have a good Post Sale Checkout system, vendio was great. before eBay monopolized payment methods, vendio was great. when eBay didn't offer a comprehensive listing/relisting tool, vendio was great. All of these things were worth paying vendio, however it has been reduced to scheduled listings and inventory management. That doesn't really do much when you don't generally sell from inventory either.
very difficult in justifying all those extra fees when you now get many of them included with eBay at no extra cost.
i hate to be this way, but what has vendio done for sellers lately?

On AliExpress.com - they really try to make communication easy. You can IM with the seller and from my experience, most speak pretty good English.

I agree. Lower the fees for the legacy sellers. Why list free eBay auctions with Vendio, when each listing is charged 6 cents by Vendio?
While everyone is stumbling around trying to build "free" stores, the Vendio legacy sellers are paying for their fun.
I really like Vendio, the services provided allowed me to grow my business. However, the fees are becoming too expensive.
As to AliBaba, and AliExpress - I am sure we would benefit from the new relationship. However, my concerns are more immediate now. How do I fit my items into the once again revised Ebay, and make them relevant, without additional expense?

Cool! Glad that you used them. How I filter for good products is:
Maximizing the AliExpress coupon:
Each coupon is worth $20 and is valid on any order greater than $20. Therefore, to maximize the value of this you simply need to create an order that’s $20.01 or more. Keep in mind that because you have 5 coupons, you can place 5 different orders for up to $100 of free stuff!
AliExpress has a great search function that enables you to find deals fast.
Here is how:
1. Choose a category or subcategory.
2. In the “Price and Quantity” search box, choose the value $20 and $21. Also select the “Show Free Shipping” box. This ensures that you’re only looking at items that cost between $20-21 with shipping included.
See image: http://www.dealio.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/use2.png
3. Find an item you want to purchase. Click on the “Buy Now” button and fill out shipping information. You’ll then see the “Review Order” page. Please note that the coupon will not be applied until the next step.
4. Next you’ll see the “Payment” page. Here the coupon will be applied. You can pay via PayPal, credit card or bank transfer.
5. Upon payment, you’ll receive email confirmations. Log into your Alibaba.com account to view order details.

I agree with Bill K. Vendio is a great tool that has morphed into over priced image hosting/storage. I will probabaly not continue my $200.00 per year membership when it expires in March.
