I picked up a Club aluminum pot at a yard sale. It is a large one. How do I measure it as far as quart size. Do I fill to the top, say with water or not up to the top or just how do I measure. It is not marked for size. TIA

Maybe just fill a 4 cup measuring cup or whatever is your largest size measure cup and count how many cups of water you put into the pot, that will tell you how many quarts of liquid the pot holds (Like 4 cups is one quart) and so on.

Measurments in reference books can sometimes be confusing. I recently sold a Russel Wright casserole that held 5 1/2 qts to the rim. My reference book stated that casseroles came in 2,4 and 6 quart sizes. I gave the best description I could, including height, width and capacity. Buyer was very pleased.

Thanks all. I have a 1 qt measuring cup but was wondering if you filled it to the rim or not. I'll do it that way and also give the diameter at the top of the pot.

I would say that you measure it with the water to the rim and that will tell you how many quarts the pot holds.
