I can't figure out what's going on! My FP sales are paying right after purchase. I haven't had anyone pay for an auction in 2 days!! Perhaps it's coincidence - but I don't believe I have ever had this happen before.

I have the same problem, taking longer to pay.
Some told me they are strained(aka buying too much) and will take time to pay or just ask me to cancel the transaction.
They bidded on many items and dont expect to win so many !
The Black Friday scheme this year of starting early before Friday with the BEstbuy,Walmart and Target of the world is that they want to be first stop of the Xmas shoppers before they run out of money .

I get that but don't understand why it's the auctions that aren't paying unless they bid ahead of time and forgot about it. Maybe problems with WBN?

You probably all ready did this and looked but sometimes payments show up in PayPal and never generate an email. It happens infrequently enough that I forget about it.

I've had a couple of slow auction pays recently. The first one I think she just didn't have the money, when I asked for payment she asked for more time - until her next "payday".

The 2nd one claimed he just forgot that he had placed the bid and didn't check back after the auction ended. Anyway with a little prodding, they both paid.

I wasn't going to take the time to tell my sagas of late / annoying payments, but just had to share.

I go this email sort of late one night about 11PM. It said I bought one of your ***, would like the other one (similar) if you will give me a good price. Before I had a chance to reply, he had purchased the second one & paid for the first one!! Since it was after midnight, now, I waited until the next morning to respond. I emailed him that he had already purchased the second item, so I refunded the first payment & sent him an invoice for the 2 items with free shipping (they were quite heavy). He emailed me back that he thought I could give him a better price, so he only wanted the first one. (I knew I should never have refunded his payment!!) I emailed him & said that since he went ahead & PURCHASED the second item before I got back to him, how was I supposed to give him a better price when he had already PURCHASED it!!

But, I said, no problem. Resubmit payment for the first item & I will cancel the second transaction. Now he says PayPal will not allow him to pay for the first item... Then he says his credit card expired... Then he tells me HE cancelled both transactions.

I am trying to be polite through all of this. I explain he can resubmit the payment for the first item since I refunded his payment. I told him only the SELLER can cancel a transaction. But, whatever he wants, let me know...

A day later he says sorry for the confusion, he will go ahead & buy both of the items & he did!!

Crazy, crazy!!

OK, here is another crazy:

I get an email from a buyer & he says he wants to buy something from me, but can he wait to pay for it until ... (about 2 weeks from purchase date). I said, sure, it was not a hot item & I had more. Several days go by & someone does a BIN & pays for that item. The buyer is from Australia. I did not think anything strange until I get this frantic email, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, refund my money I cannot pay for it (he already paid for it, the money was in my PayPal account). It was the same person who asked me wait 2 weeks for payment.

I replied that you already paid for it, so obviously you CAN pay for it. He insists, NO, NO, NO, the payment will not go through there is not enough money in my account. I repeat, that the money is in my account you must have some back up payment method.

No, No, there is not money there please refund, refund, refund.

I refund. He leaves me + feedback, I block him....

Whew!!

I hardly ever get a no pay bidder but have 3 from last week alone. Here is an excuse I got this morning about an item he won for over $100.00 that the payment was past due on. I filed for my fees back from eBay yesterday.
"sir I am so sorry about this, but I am not going to be able to purchase this item. my wife was in an accident Thursday night and she is on life support and I am a quadriplegic and on fixed income and can't even afford gas to get back home, I am truly sorry about the inconvenience."

Ah, the excuses, yet we the sellers have to jump through hoops!

Sigh....

He may use a voice command program to type... however the chances that any of his excuse is accurate is doubtful.

I remember the old days of asking buyers for proof of their insane excuses for me not to file a NPB.

I'm waiting on payments from 5 buyers right now. Next thing you know - they will all pay at the same time and say they need it by Christmas.

So yesterday I got a message - "can you get this postcard to me in Boston by Christmas?". I answered chances are (no guarantee) if you buy and pay within the next half hour I can get in the mail today and it should make it. So she buys - but doesn't pay. I scurried around anyway - her address was her office so I sent a message asking if she wants me to ship to that address and does she want to pay extra for priority packaging.. she answers send regular first class mail for free and doesn't answer the office question. Still no payment but I decide to risk it and include it with the others I brought to the PO at 5 PM. Just as I dropped the envelope in the slot I realized that in my rush I had forgotten to put a stamp on it! I get home - find a message asking me to send to home address ... still no payment. SERVES HER RIGHT! I guess I will tell her not to bother paying now.

This is the month I put the "Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part" sign on my bulletin board.

I still do my best to help, but at least it helps me stay calm about it!
