1) Glasses shipped to UK on Dec 17, via Express Mail. Guaranteed delivery by 12/21 if shipped by 12/18. Didn't arrive until 12/27. Sat in UK and returned unclaimed for 3 weeks. Glasses arrived - 1 broken. Box obviously opened and ripped (retaped by someone). Claim filed.

2) Fireplace Tool Set shipped to Germany on 1/18. Last record shows it was processed through San Francisco on 1/21. 2 weeks now and no other tracking info. Buyer has not received item. Trace now implemented.

3) Package returned to me by customer in Australia. Shipped it back 3 weeks ago. Not received. No tracking info on the package. Original shipment doesn't show that it was even delivered to her in the first place.

On top of all of these shipping problems, I have had several International NPB claims filed for people in the UK and Australia.

I am now using the GSP service, but if I have a problem with that over the next few months I am ending all international shipping. I am done with it.

It is as if the Post Office is running some sort of scam for international shipments. Maybe they are swiping packages, taking the contents, running auctions on eBay to sell our goods and then ship them... of course, they don't ship Internationally in this case because they can't trust themselves. Ha!!

Just changed all listings to no international.

Similar problems, not worth the stress.

I've had one package knocking around Italian customs since Nov. 3 for a mid October posting.
Luckily for me there is a very patient, understanding and kind buyer waitng for it.
Only movement came after an International inquiry sent, but again it is sitting since Jan. 20.

I would love to give up International but I would really be slitting my own wrists as so much of my eBay business is international.

As someone mentioned on another thread, I do find that my eBay problems seem to come in bunches after months of calm.

I sent a package to the UK in late November.
It never arrived before Christmas (it was for a gift) but the buyer was nice and said he would wait.
It still wasn't there by January 15th so I refunded his money. Only $40 but I had not insured so I was out of luck.
Last week he wrote and said it had arrived and wanted to repay me. That made my week - glad there are still many honest people out there.

I have a California buyer for a $35 plus shipping item,it took one month to arrive.
By then I have already refunded her payment in full, then when I found out it has finally arrived, she said she would pay me,and claimed Paypal may have charged her credit card twice,I sent her an invoice and she negged me for harrassing.
I called Ebay and asked to have the neg removed, moron Ebay rep said no,because I have refunded her payment and buyers are allowed to express their shopping experience, words of mouth is important to spread the ebay experience!
Then I pointed out that Ebay always wants us sellers to work with buyer before a case is open, thats why I refunded her payment, how can she neg me without paying for the item.
Then moron suggested I get my money back by filing a police report.
Now how can that be a good Ebay experience when police comes to your door?
Anyway I finally got my money after I emailed her saying I have talked to my police and her police and USPS fraud investigation!
BUT THE NEG STAYS !

My item to Germany arrived, whew!!!

My item that was held in UK was covered by eBay insurance, but only for the item purchase price, not the shipping. Post Office insures the shipping which in this case was quite expensive - over $50. I have a claim with them, but will see what happens.

Additionally, I am trying to find out if the buyer refused the package because of customs fees.

I had sent her numerous emails between 12/28 and 1/10 regarding the package.

1/10 I sent her an email with the post office phone number in the UK to have the item forwarded. She didn't respond to me for 18 days.

1/22 UK post office returns the item

1/28 Buyer emails me this:

" I have called the post office and the parcel is now on it's way back to you. I was informed that it was stopped in customs as you were aware and because you had not stated it was a gift there were further charges to pay. Apparently they sent at letter to advise me of this but as you know I am now back in London so was unaware of the situation. They have therefore sent the parcel back to you.

Have you received this yet? Once you have received please can you ship back to me immediately? Ensuring that gift is clearly marked so it wont get stopped in customs. It will need to be sent to my work address in London so I can sign for it when it arrives; 46 Hertford Street, London, W1J 7DP."

-----------------

Now, if she had checked the tracking it clearly stated the reason why it was being held by the Post Office. Additionally, my listings clearly state that I do not mark items as gifts because for us, it is merchandise. We did not give this item to her as a gift, we sold it to her.

So now the tracking info tells me that the package I shipped in Oct. and was sitting in Italian customs (or somewhere!) has been shipped back to me!
WTF!
Meanwhile my poor customer is still patiently waiting. The PO should be interesting tomorrow.

Well,I shipped an item by express mail to Russia, their post office tried to deliver the package twice and failed.
She won the chargeback, since it was never delivered.
Then lo and behold,USPS tracking shows it was delivered,so I asked Paypal to honor its seller protection policy.
Paypal said it is over 250.so where is the signature confirmation?
Well,USPS express mail has no signature confirmation, only USPS express mail guarantee does,so I am out of luck.
As a consolation price,Paypal sent her an invoice asking her to pay up,of course she ignores it.
Then Paypal said if I can show them a piece of shipping document with her signature on it,they will honor the seller protection policy.
So I asked our post office to contact Russia for some kind of proof.
Lo and behold,Russian post office finally sent a copy of my shipping label with her signature, but then when I went online to check the status,it has been changed from delivered back to attempt to deliver.
I gave up !

I know the feeling, but you shouldn't give up if you are lucky enough to have her signature! If it wasn't delivered, she couldn't have signed for it.

exactly. a signature means she received it, accepted it, and has it in her possession no matter what the status of the package is. If there is a signature proving delivery, I would go with that and send it to eBay for proof. Make sure to have a screen shot.

Thanks,I will send it to Paypal tomorrow,it is not an Ebay transaction.
Some Ebay seller once said selling on Ebay gives her a lot of stress,I can see it now,you get up in the morning and turn on the PC and you see a paypal/Ebay dispute case number PP4567XXXX.
Is it Fluffy who once said she logged on every morning and never know if her listings are still on Ebay? When Ebay suspended a seller, all her/his listings disappear ,and how do you relist 10,000 listings from scratch?

Item lost to Australia showed up yesterday here in Portland. Great!

The item to Germany was received and buyer is happy.

Item shipped to UK is damaged, a claim was submitted to USPS which the inspector at the Post Office lied on the form even though I showed her repeatedly that the box was dented on the edge AND gave her the box if it is sent to the claims department will still have the dent in it. Will that matter? Probably not, so I am holding little hope USPS will do much.
