I just printed a label for a package going to Chile, and I am given a choice of USPS priority my own box, priority fixed rate boxes (small, medium and large),flat rate envelope(padded or not, regular, legal size and gift card ),and it shows all are trackable except priority gift card envelope.
i chose my own box as it is cheaper than their box and I am given a tracking number of CJ 171 773 0xx US.
Can any of you confirm if it is indeed trackable to Chile or any foreign country?
This is something new to me,is this something they have made available since 1/27/2013.
My package weighs 1.23 lbs and is 14 by 12 by 3 inches tall and it costs me 37.93,which is not that bad, cheaper than fixed rate medium box.

Well,in the past,USPS priority envelopes and small fixed rate boxes are not trackable once it leaves the country, when you said it is trackable for you,how far?

I shipped to Australia using Priority FR. It shows shipment to US Sort Facility and stopped. I am awaiting confirmation from buyer for receipt. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Now,USPS made the changes on Jan 27th 2013.
I mailed a small USPS priority package to UK on Jan 28,2013,so far it said it has left Houston sort facility on Jan 28.2013.
No more tracking .
I dont think USPS has control once it leaves this country,it may say it is trackable, but if the local post office does not scan it,nothing USPS can do.
