I reported before to the number of glitches I have encountered recently on Ebay and people have responded as to their encounters.

Here is a new one. Go to completed for Spode 2005 plate. Many, many items are listed as a BIN or auctions with a BIN and under them is says (Reserve not met)!! Huh?? There is no reserve!! They were BINs or FP!!

What is going on with the IT dept??

I agree. I have complained about several issues over the years to eBay. Maybe one has been fixed.

Very glitch rich website for sure.

The most annoying glitches I have are the following:

- Bulk Edit. If I adjust the BIN, sometimes eBay will completely remove the Best Offer parameters. Sometimes they remove the high or low or both. Very frustrating.

- Promotion/Sale. I quit using this for the most part. If you put something on sale, at the end of the sale it screws up your Best offer parameters.

The latest glitch....

Ebay is showing watchers and bids but not views.

Just noticed that myself.

I decided to experiment with the "Markdown" feature again, after at least a year.

You would think eBay would just revert your Buy It Now and Best Offer settings back to what they were before you started the sale. I will see what happens... hopefully something will sell in the process.

In order to do that,Ebay will have to store your best offer values somewhere,I dont think it does it now.
Besides if it is not sold,it is not a bad idea to revise the buy it now price with a new set of hi /low best offer range.

Lost - Here is the issue.

I have an item, reg: $145 with Best Offer Auto Accept/Deny at $120/$100. Now it is on sale for 15% off or $127.25, but the Best Offer is still present, though eBay removed the Auto accept/deny prices. I have another item on sale where it didn't remove the settings. In both instances, the auto settings were still below the sale price.

eBay's system is simply being glitchy. I have idea what their system will do to my listings unless I manually adjust them. I wouldn't be surprised that after the sale is over they screw up settings I fixed. I will let you know on the 11th when the sale is over.

Me thinks Ebay is doing too much, remember years ago Tiffany took Ebay to court and the Ebay rep told the judge Ebay has over 133,000 rules?
Just think how many rules Ebay have now?
233,900?300,000?5 billions?
10 trillions?
What happens if this happens in your brick and mortar store, when you marked down the merchandise and it does not sell, who goes in and restore the presale price ?
And is the best offer price range a mental note in your head or you write it down somewhere?

For us, it is a range. The range is used for shipping location. If I get an offer from the West Coast, shipping may be $15. If it is going to the East Coast, it may be $25. That is the difference. If it is International, then I don't pay the cost of shipping, so I can discount a bit more.

We have an estimated shipping cost, and compensate accordingly.

One glitch noted from Ebay:

We're writing to let you know that on September 30 and October 1, we had a technical issue that led to some transaction payments failing to be completed, both on the eBay site and on eBay mobile applications.
During the affected time period, a payment for one or more of your items was collected from a buyer and deposited to your PayPal account. However, the sale information may not have made it to you. We are crediting your buyer for the transaction in the next 7 to 10 business days—and you can keep the buyer's payment. We're picking up the tab on this one.
One or more of your items were affected. Please see the list of item numbers below:
xxxxxxx
If you and the buyer have already been in contact, or if you already shipped the item, that's great. Consider yourself paid twice. We're letting the buyer know this item does not need to be returned.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for selling on eBay.
Sincerely,
eBay Seller Team

I guess I should have waited for Ebay to notice, but it has 10 days. I contacted my seller after I shipped the first item she paid for. She had paid also for an identical item. When she said she did not want 2 of them, I refunded her money on the second item. Hmm, so it looks like since I was vigilant, I get no benefit from this fiasco, but the buyer gets a free $100 item!!

If I was trying to be slick,or was not watching my accounts, it looks like I could have kept both payments!!
