The daily Iran quoted an unidentified judge as saying that the 50, arrested Thursday, were found guilty and sentenced to between 30 to 99 lashes each.
Now, before you go and say how harsh that this punishment for immoral behavior is, concider the next statement:
Iran said the verdict has been carried out and that none of them objected to the lashing -- an admission of wrongdoing, the paper quoted the judge as saying.
None of the partygoers objected to being lashed? Musta been some kinda party!

Oh, come on James! You know that all of our problems would be solved if only we had Pat Robertson running the country with a Moral Clergy instead of this corrupt Democracy of ours! Why, everybody would be made to obey God's Laws and we could eliminate all sin, all crime, all pain and suffering, unemployment, mental illness, and even the Post Office.
Poverty would still be around, though. Poverty would be the Ideal for each citizen, because they get to go to Heaven if they live in poverty, squalor, and ignorance. Of those who have lots of money and property -- well, SOMEONE has to take a fall for the good of everyone else!
