I don't know if those outside of NY have EZ Pass, which is an electronic device that you attach to your vehicles windshield and by paying a monthly (I think it's monthly) bill, you get the privilege of speeding up your trip through tolls. EZ Pass has it's own lanes and you simply drive thru & the device is read & you are then charged the fee. There has been some controversy regarding EZ Pass, for the PTB can track your (vehicles) whereabouts.
Well, last night I pull into the local Mickey D's for dinner, and lo and behold THEY now accept EZ Pass!!!....Now are the PTB gonna track my monthly quota of Big Mac's.... AGH!!!!!!

Time to leave the mystery meat behind and get into good eating habits! You never know how this information will be used, you could be refused the right to vote...too much cholesterol (won't be around to answer for voting decision), no liquor service...eats kids meals, and on, and on, and on! Scary!

No paper reciept right?
I would sure hate to track all the purchases - and I am not trusting enough to just assume they get it right.
Edited to add - Knowing human nature they will have people give this to their kids to eat instead of money and when they order there is no money visably changing hands so people - kids and adults - will probably order up extra items and spend more.

Zilvy, it's not mystery meat, I'm pretty sure that a couple of years ago it was identified as kangaroo!(no offense intended to the Australian or Vegetarian AWers ) I suppose my voting rights could be in jeopardy, but that would probably depend on which clown was running for office!
Gravid, yeah I'm pretty sure it paperless & I too would be a little leary of the cracker jack staff getting my billing correct...Geez, they can't even get my order right most times! Being the only fastfood in town with a "credit" type program, I could see how it could definitely be a benefit. Pity the poor parent with an EZ Pass device on their car the night they let their teenage son (& his friends) borrow the car!!!.....

Does because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!!!
I was wondering what EZPass was. I just came back from vacation in Vermont, and I saw those signs at all the tolls in New Jersey. With all the traffic there, it must make life easier.

shadow - you would think so but it actually makes things worse. They don't put signs as to what booth takes what payment far enough back so you can get into the correct lane. You end up with cars making frightening lane changes to get to the right booth which backs up traffic even worse. God forbid they decide to play bumber cars in the middle of it. Sometimes it can take the better part of an hour to get up to and through one of the toll booths.

I agree that they don't advertise which lane is which fast enough. I only go to NJ occasioanly for work - and I always have to find the cash only lane so I can get a receipt - I *think* the cash only lane is on the far right. But then again I *think* they will have those little jug handles to turn left, and then they throw a actual left turn in there. Ack!

I can imagine what a nighmare that must be during the day. We timed it to go through NJ during the middle of the night. There still is traffic...but nothing like I'm sure it is during the day.

My husband has the EZpass. They bill your credit card $25 in advance and when it's close to gone, they bill you again.
I hope McDonald's isn't going to get his credit card info.
