Good morning all,
I'm all rested this morning, but I got my sleep after being up for 23 hours.
I woke up at about 11pm on Saturday night, and fell asleep about 10pm last night.
I'm wondering if others have occasional insomnia, and actually like it. I find that when I have it (and I do probably 2-3 days a month since I was a teenager - back when dinosaurs roamed the earth). I get a lot done and am very focussed (sp?). I did start getting a little loopy around 8:00 last night, but that coincided with when I was done with all my listing.
So, anyone else have insomnia? Do you hate it? Love it? Learned to deal with it? Learned tricks to go back to sleep?

Hi Sadie, I have it more often than not. If I lived alone I wouldn't mind, but at 2, 3, or 4 am, the MAN doesn't want to hear the vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, or washing machine running and of course I wind up at the computer wasting my time.
If I look at the bed during the day I could sleep but not matter how tired I feel at the end of the day it is always a "crap shoot" as to whether I'll sleep.
I've been fortunate in that most of my husbands/housedudes have been the type that sleep like logs. My current in-house "guest," was the father of six, and nothing wakes him up!
On the other hand, I don't even know where the vacuum is because he does that, though I do know where the kitchen sink is because I need that to put water in the coffee maker.
I sometimes take naps in the afternoon, but that seems to increase the incidences of insomnia (no surprise I guess), so I've been trying not to do that unless I'm exhausted.

I've also had insomnia since my teens (20 years give or take). It doesn't bother me too much unless it goes on for a week or so - which it does fairly often.
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but sometimes my insomnia is caused by "nervous legs" "restless legs" whatever you want to call it. It makes you completely batty! Does anyone else experience this?

I think some people just have different clocks. Since I was a teenage, I have gotten only 3 or 4 hours of sleep per night & frequently will have night that I do not sleep at all--am busy doing something. Then, about once a month, I will sleep one day for about 9 or 10 hours.
I think I inherit this from my mother, who needed very little sleep herself.
