Dumbya is taking a one month vacation starting today.
I'm not sure yet what that means, but it's without precedent.
In just a few months he's alienated most of the world, found that congress is kinda' disagreeable, seen his supposedly successful missile defense system test exposed as a sham (they had a homing beacon aboard the target), and received word that his gallup poll approval rating had continued to fall to 52%.
I guess all of the success so far has worn him out.

His brain, however, is on permanent leave of absence.

G.W., We're Gonna' Miss Ya...

No, we're not.

Where'd you read that, Ken??

I'd like to see a little info on this too. He hasn't done enough work yet to deserve a vacation.

Darn. From the title of this thread, I thought maybe Bush had a temper tantrum and quit.

Good one, Snowy.

Wonder if anyone will notice his absence.

Never fear, the real president will be on the job.

Nosiree, no relaxing 4-week vacation for Mr. Cheney's heart.

"It's not just world leaders, lawmakers and trusted advisers who don't pay attention to the president. Neither do his cows.

Thanks krs

If he's walking the cow pasture talking to the cows, he must be eatting those mushrooms that grow in cow pastures.

To quote an old song... "Take a trip and never leave the farm".

MY source told me that he was leaving for vacation back in January, and we are still waiting for him to return...

He should take Trent Lott along. Trent relates well to cows and is right at home in a cow pasture.

I've searched high and lo' for something regarding this statement about the missile defense: ...his supposedly successful missile defense system test exposed as a sham (they had a homing beacon aboard the target)...

This is an area I'm very interested in and hope you could provide a source.

Thanks

Gee Deuce,

I'd have thought that you'd be amongst the first to know....

High and low doesn't include the news services, eh?

Bush, who owns two dogs, didn't say whether he talks back to the cows. Nor whether they offer any presidential advice.

LOL!!

Oh well, Jimmy Stewart had Harvey, so I guess Georgie can have Elsie.

We all have to find our playmates where we can.

krs,

Thanks for the link.

And FYI, I placed missile, defense, test, homing into several search sites and none of them found anything at all regarding this.

bush missile test beacon.

I like the last line: the beacon says "Here I am".

Guess those will have to be sent to all of the 'rogue nations' as essential to their supposed impending attacks.

You are right. It is a shame that so many man hours went into this test, and many of them (several I know personally) had no knowledge of this aiding device.

While a lot of data will be useful, the US will never accept such aided systems, however realistic one claims them to be.

Send up not a Minuteman II, used earlier this month, but a MM III, the best in the inventory, and see how ABM can affect that.

Again, thanks for the link.

Sure! Instead of wasting it on a useless misle program, why not give everyone a raise? it'd help to improve the economy and guarantee Bush the military vote next time.

Oh!

There's no "corporation" in the military -- is there?

Oh, well ...

An op-ed about the tricked up missile test:

From the above mentioned Op-ed piece ...

In early July, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education, Defense Department officials asked MIT to confiscate the reclassified report from Postol and to "investigate [his] actions." At first MIT president Charles Vest, no doubt worried about millions of dollars in defense research grants to his university, moved to comply with that request. Only when Postol protested publicly did MIT back down. Bogus tests and bullied critics are the hallmarks of a defense establishment that fears facts. With billions in contracts at stake and bellicose ideologues in power, the salesmen for national missile defense must conceal the many defects in their dangerous product. And the press corps, reverting to the bad habits of the Cold War, has done little so far to penetrate the Pentagon's propaganda.

That's why we keep saying that it's a conservative, not the Liberal media that the conservatives keep lying about.

Tell me truthfully, dear republicans -- doesn't your Glorious Leader make you feel soooo proud? I'll betcha your feelings of superior position makes you feel so warm and fuzzy all over! How much longer are you going to stand for it and not reform your own political party?

They're all going on vacation....it's called a recess.

Presidencies don't recess, it ain't congress and no matter how much he'd like it to be, it ain't the third grade.

Borillar,

There's something funny going on about the silencing of the MIT critics and the withdrawal of their contracts. Links describing the scene that were live yesterday are coming up as "forbidden, not available through this server".

Are they clamping down on the press? They jailed a reporter yesterday for refusing to turn over her notes in one case and questions are coming out concerning whether Ashcroft is directly involved.

The helicopters are being brought up to a hover.

"Are they clamping down on the press?"

Hell, it's their conservative media -- they can do with them whatever they like!

Of course there's a precedent in place. During Clinton's Impeachment Hearing an article by online Salon Magazine reported that Henry Hyde had also had an affair, the republican response was to send out Sen. Trent Lott and face the reporters and told them point blank that if anyone in the media dared to support Clinton in that manner again that he was going to sic the FBI out on them to find out why! That interview on the steps of Congress was repeated over and over again -- so that the entire media completely understood what could happen to them. Only Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine dared to stand up to them and told them and the FBI to go to hell! Since then, the media has been very careful not to expose wrongdoings by the republicans. Can't say that the media is stupid.
