Wow, I just bought an old desk just like the ones we had in grade school. I remember being told that if I crawled under one and covered my head I wouldn't get hurt, or was that just for Russsian bombs?

Duck and cover drills they were called in my school.
They scared the hell out of me. Even then I knew how worthless they were. Who wants to die hiding under a desk?
