Hope everyone has a great holiday!
I can't help but think though that of all our national holidays this is the only one that we no longer commonly refer to by its official name, Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day just doesn't sound quite right. Ironic, isn't it.

Hi hair2 it's always good to see your posts!
No - there's no boat in the plans for today. As you may or may not know in the deep south it's purple hull peas time! Time to get them in the freezer for this wintertime good eating!!! But there will be food on the grill tonight.
I hope you have a good time today and some good stuff to eat!!

Yes I can eat, almost healed, and getting fat again! boating today and watching fireworks if we can stay up that late!!! JDK are you getting email for this thread?

No i'm not getting email from this thread.
I check it from another email address sometimes & that happens to be the case
today.
Oh hair2 purple hull peas are the
greatest. You work your BUTT off to
have them later but worth it.
As long as you enjoy the eating it takes to get fat - go for it!!!
Bad place to be with a 6yo here. River down the street with something like the world's largest fireworks display, and he *knows* this. 110 anticipated heat index. Usually go to the VA hospital roof but that's not an option this year; hm. Like living in a police state and pretending everything is normal. Thinking of going up to my roof--a place I've never been but afraid I'll be turned back by or shot by snipers. Can't even go fishing today--all locked down. So I can relate to your lack of whoop-di-doo. It could be worse tho'; you could have a psyched up 6yo.
Clarksville: I thought you took the last train out of "eBay Outlook", 2-3 days ago, especially after embarassing yourself in my "18yo" thread. Guess you didn't. Tsk tsk!
To those partying: Have a good time. And don't forget to name a designated driver!
America is a wonderful country. It's just some of it's denizens we must contend with.

>>Don't risk your life to see bombs bursting in air!!!!<<
LOL!
No risk of that. I couldn't even commit suicide if I wanted to. The WALKIE TALKIES just arrived, carry wooden contraptions.
"What's this?", I asked as if I didn't know. From the design, it looks like they'll have to lock themselves on. No suicides in my hood tonight, you can count on that!
