I'm having a spinach salad with swiss cheese, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and sliced peaches (usually I use oranges). I make my own simple dressing:
1/4 c. olive oil
1/4 c. honey
1/2 c. malt vinegar
+ a healthy dose of minced garlic
+ a pinch of salt
Shake well.
The guys are having a pork roast (that you buy all packaged up), baked potatoes and frozen peas. Their carnivorous meal lasts them one sitting. Mine lasts for a couple of days.

I didn't eat a thing all day yesterday, not one morsel, so for dinner tonight i may start with a bowl of tomato soup with crackers. Next will be a couple of BLT on toast sandwiches with some potato chips, a pickel and a tall glass of ice cold milk. Then at about 9 PM, which is peanut butter time, i will make a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk.

Do you mean chick peas, Maggie? I love them, and broccoli too. Have you tried that broccoli salad I posted awhile ago?
1 large head of broccoli cut & broken into small bite size pieces
1/2 cup fake bacon bits (or real if you eat meat)
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup diced onion
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup mayo
I mix the sugar into the mayo and pour it on everything once the sugar has dissolved, then mix. Let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two then chow down!

The slow smoke pork sounds fantastic Bear. Got any Pecan shells in there? Pecan smoked pork... Ymmmmmmmmmmm.
I have no idea what is for dinner. It's my mothers birthday. I have to run up in a minute and give her her gift. Generally they don't cook on Mondays. I would have cooked dinner for her but my step is allergic to every spice I cook with (unless HE is cooking with it)and hates thai and carribean which are my favorite styles right now.
I have bacon, some fresh sourdough and a huge red onion awaiting my return.

Fenix, no pecan shells. Its smoking over home made hickory charcoal (not brickettes).
My brother is supposed to bring me a load of pecan wood for me to make into more charcoal.

I don't know what a 'colinic treatment' is. Is that some kind of a religeous thing performed by someone named Colin?? LOL
What's the longest you've ever been on a fast. I did a 10 day fast one time.

Sorry, I misspelled it.. colonic treatment..where you go and get your intestines and bowel cleansed..it is wonderful to rid the body of toxins..
The longest I have fasted was 3 days.. but when I fast I still drink water and juice.

There's a type of tea you can drink that will do the same thing, cleanse out your system.
I looked in my cupboard and i found the box of tea that i drink. It's called Daily Detox II and it's an herbal, caffeine free tea. I drink it every day for a couple of weeks and it sure seems like i feel better afterwards.

Maggie, isn't that the same thing as an enema? (I'll never forget that scene from 'The Right Stuff'.)

Yes...I've tried that too.. but then you have to make sure you stay close to the potty all day.. with colonic cleansing, it's done in an hour..
When you fast, do you still drink liquids?

Kinda sorta.. Kraft.. but much more than an enema.. They massage your tummy every 10 minutes and you are hooked up to a machine that flushes you..steadily for about 45 minutes..all very professional..cleans all the toxic build up etc..it's a very healthy procedure.

Bear - never tried it with Pecan wood. My steps mother sends a huge box of cracked pecans for nearly every holiday. We shell the pecans for pie and then use the shells to smoke. Turns the pork a pinkish color and makes it taste like heaven.

carne asada, made from pounded thin and marinated elk sirloin, grilled rare and served on tortillas... Calabacitas-home grown zuccini, sweet corn, green chile and goat cheese soup. A nice Pinot Noir, followed by a Carlos I brandy and a big old stogie by the fire on the porch. The girls decided to stay an extra day...they are spoiling their old papi and little brother rotten...life is pretty goshdarned sweet...
