What a great sight. It was a clear night, cold but not so much as you couldn't go outside to see a beautiful site. I hope everyone had a chance to see it. It will happen again I think they said in three years. The moon was orange and just sparkled. I can't remember any
other one like it.

I saw part of it too. It was magnificent - the moon was rather orange. It was about -10 and a little too cold to hang out for the show to finish.

Missed it here, raining. My stock are going to have plenty of grass this spring. Happy sheep, happy cows, happy horses. Next full eclipse won't be till 2010 I hear.

In December - wonder when the next WARM season one is?

Thirty sub-zero days so far this year here and counting. Let me see ... 30/52 (58%) of the days in 2008 ... I am SO ready for Spring!

You Minnesotans have always complained about the weather -- From a 1911 St Peter MN postcard (sorry about the caps):

DEAR FATHER AND MOTHER,

WE COULD NOT COME HOME BECAUSE IT WAS TOO STORMY. SUNDAY WHEN WE CAME OUT OF CHURCH IT WAS SNOWING SO HARD WE HAD TO SHUT OUR EYES SO WE THOUGHT WE COULD WAIT A WHILE AND IT GOT WORSE AND TODAY IT WAS TWICE AS BAD. AUNTY SAID IT WAS ALRIGHT WE COULD EAT ALL WE WANTED OF HER THINGS. ARTHUR GOT SOME OATS FROM THE HORSELLER AT C. SWENSON, AND THEN HE GOT ALL THE CORN HE WANTED FROM THE OSBOURNES. WILL TRY TO COME HOME TOMORROW IF IT AIN'T TO STORMY. WE THOUGHT IT WAS BETTER TO STAY. AUNTY SAID WE COULD GET SOME COATS FROM THEM. I HOPE YOU AIN'T BEEN WORRYING BECAUSE WE DIDN'T COME HOME. WE ARE SAFE IF WE STAY HERE. FROM DORA AND ARTHUR

Aw you're just a sissy - one hard winter here and you pack up and head for rainy Oregon. Winters in Minnesota sort the men from the boys and show the true mettle of the women. Slide a little lutefisk down our throats and we're good to go 'til May.

Libra, I agree that the moon was beautiful last night. It was cold and clear here and we could see it from our window so didn't have to go outside.
