This is the man who, by all credible accounts, drank, drove, partied, snorted, chased "pussy" and went AWOL until he was forty, at which point he piously gave up alcohol and expected the past to therefore disappear. He is now prepared to sue, stonewall, demonize, delay, mud-sling and cheat his way to a technical victory --moral victories being for weenies--in the expectation that once he wins, he will hear "Hail to the Chief" sung with a straight face by a grateful citizenry, the method of the victory conveniently forgotten. Like every
other schoolyard bully, Bush always believes that everything will be fine once he gets his way. Like his moral and political soul-mates, the House Impeachment Managers, Bush cannot comprehend the possibility that the public turns queasy when an election looks to be overturned on a technicality. Most Americans didn't really care that Clinton lied about having an affair, and they don't care that some arbitrary deadline has passed in the state of Florida. Democrat or Republican or Other, most Americans actually see a bigger picture than that, at least the ones who have firmly and permanently left third grade behind. The only picture Bush sees is his own, and that fact has been obvious at least since St. Patrick's Day. If the mainstream media is still trying to figure it out on Christmas, we will have to wonder what grade they're stuck in.
Holy Smoke, the man is a danger to society. The last President we had with this carefree an attitude toward "ratf??king" an election thought that bugging offices and wiretapping phones was just normal political behavior, justified by the necessity of winning.I remember where I was when he was forced to resign. Of course, Bush probably doesn't --1974 would have fallen in the midst of his "I was too drunk to remember" years. -- Doris in DC, 11/23

IMLDS2, who and how are you going to fight? By the way, ubb utilizes brackets [] instead of <> for your bolding. Just thought I'd help you out on this.

Thanks Katy D. for the info on []...
Who do I want to fight? Why 'them' of course! How? Any way I can that is legal.
I'm still looking for my Texas rangers...wait! I sent them to protest in FL..they are doing quite well I do believe.
I will not accept another CLINTON Presidency...after all that is what Clinton said isn't it?(A vote for Gore is like voting for me...or something like that)
posted on November 24, 2000 04:54:42 PM
IMLDS2, well, I suppose if you're not "me" you must be "them". If you want to "fight" so much why not write a check for the "war effort". I'm sure the Bush/Cheney campaign would be very appreciative. Or..you could always volunteer to drive around one of those motorhomes down there in Florida. You know the ones they driving around all the "spontaneous" protesters to the recount sites. Since you're a non-violent sort of person... If nothing else, it will give you something to do.

IMLDS2, Clinton never said anything of the sort, which you probably don't know since I doesn't appear that you are interested in accuracy, but rather in rhetoric (whether from the neighbor at the back fence or the check-out clerk at the grocery store) and inflammatory statements.
Who, exactly, is "them"? Is it every registered Democrat in the country? Would you include those who did not vote at all? How about those who voted, but did not vote for Gore? How about those registered Republicans who voted for Gore (shall I give you my mother's address? She lives in Florida, but not in a county using a 'punchcard system' voting machine, and she is certain that her vote was properly cast). How about those registered in other parties (Libertarian, Reform, etc.) who voted for Gore, or who voted for someone other than Bush (c'mon over, honey!)? What are you going to do about those American expatriates who voted for Gore via absentee ballot? Will you fight the clear majority of Americans (among those who did cast a vote in the presidential election) and voted for Gore? And other than by self-identification of voters and their voting preferences, how will you "know" who to fight? What symbol should I carve in my forehead? [email protected]

IMLDS2, Sorry, I wouldn't donate a plug nickel to support ruffians who use physical threats to try to intimidate people not to do their job. And yes, I define pushing and shoving as physical threats. I wouldn't get a "charge" out of doing something like that. sorry.

HC: perhaps wearing a yellow star will do. After all, there is a precedent for dealing with such "menaces" to society.

Yes, Siggy! A yellow star...that's the ticket. A Catholic myself, nonetheless, my stepfather is Jewish (and rumor has it, voted for Gore). And I had bagels and lox for breakfast this morning.
I wonder if I can get one of those snazzy tattoos on my arm when I get to camp? Have the brochures describing accommodations been distributed as yet?

Yes, Ken...love my lox! A plain bagel, a little cream cheese, lox, capers, onions, occasionally a little chopped tomato. I admit that it's hard to come by in backwoods Tennessee, but now and then the Piggly Wiggly comes through with the right stuff. Otherwise, I just have to stick with processed pig flesh and chicken embryos, ground hominy grits on the side.
Snowyegret, I understand that the Target stores have trademarked that symbol, and are disinclined to have it identified with any movement to specifically identify politically-designated groups...darn it! I really look much better in red than in yellow.

Hellcat:
yes..Clinton DID say something to that effect...and Gore didn't like it at all!(He was trying to be his own man..LOL)..I also pointed out it was not a direct quote that I made.
Why does everyone seem to go in hysterics over a very smallgroup of people chanting...and I do believe even the press was upset and amongst that 'mob'.
A mob is like what happened in Harlem..destroying things..breaking windows..killing people...that is a mob.
As far as fighting goes..have you all lost any sense of humor? I put smiling faces...I talk about Texas rangers(with my tongue in cheek)..chill out.

Lox is yummy ... there is nothing better (any time of day) than a fresh bagel with a schmear of cream cheese and some thin sliced Nova Scotia salmon.
Oh dear, I guess I will have to carve that yellow star.
Hi Hellcat, it's always a pleasure!
I will have to try capers the next time I decide to seriously knosh on some lox and bagels. One time I had a lox and cream cheese at the Second Avenue Deli in NYC (many years ago) and they put a little dab of black caviar on it and it was delish. I was surprised because I usually don't like caviar at all.

Siggy..
Why was it locked? Could it be because a bunch of dems became hysterical?
I didn't call anyone names...point any fingers..degrade individuals...and a lot more that those posing as dems did to me in that thread.
Reread the posts...you'll see I'm right and that is why nothing has happened to me.

No, IMLDS2, Clinton did not say that, or anything like that, or anything "to that effect" with a resulting negative reaction from Vice President Gore. You have the same resources available to you through the internet to prove your claim as I do to have found no support for it.
I will ask you again...who is "them"? Please be specific.

Hellcat,
I'm not going to waste my time to look it up..hmm..Rush was just talking about it today..someone named Peggy Noonan(don't know who she is or how to spell it) also wrote about it in some column.
You really didn't hear about that incident?
them...why whoever you want them to be..doesn't really matter...

Hellcat...you are from Gore's home state? Heck, he couldn't even carry his own district-let alone his entire state! LOL..

Franny Yes it was the elder Pres. Bush that did that
It has been written in a book, by James? Loftus, that George W. Bush's grandfather, Sen. Prescott Bush, was in dealings with some kind of Nazi Swiss bank dealings. But I believe that was proven to be untrue.

Mmmm, I'll have some of that lox, bagels with a schmear of cream cheese and some capers, sliced tomato, to nosh on while I'm watching from the rafters...
posted on November 24, 2000 06:49:45 PMIMLDS2, I am "insistent" because I am asking you to define your own terms. You said you would fight "them". I have asked you to define "them." It was not my statement, but yours, so I am not inclined to define it for you.
And yes, it would be a "waste of time" to look up a quote which was never made, but it does not surprise me that you will not even attempt to prove that it ever was said, for perhaps you cannot face the fact that it was not, but that you have chosen instead to rely solely on the unreliable, fabricating sources of your idolatry, and then respout their fabrications, yet without 1/10th of the rhetorical expertise of such pundits as Rush Limbaugh. Such certain knowledge of the truth would rip the very web you have woven.

Noonan was a speechwriter and special assistant to President Reagan from 1984 to 1986. In 1988 she was chief speechwriter for Vice President George Bush as he ran for the presidency. And the author of "The Case Against Hillary Clinton."

Mind if I scrunch in with you ladies, up in the rafters? I wanna watch too. Methinks its going to get quite interesting.
(Make sure you find the beam up there that says "them". We dont want to make the mistake of sitting in the "we or us" section).
