Here's something I received in my email the other day. I don't think it's anything new to anyone, but it is kind of interesting to read again if you haven't seen it for a while.

Here's a little part of American History which makes you go hmmmm...
Have a history teacher explain this-if they can.
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in1846.
John F Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy’s secretary was named Lincoln.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson who succeeded Kennedy, was born in1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Lincoln was shot in the theater named "Ford".
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln'.
Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And here's the kicker.
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.
Creepy, huh?
This is one history lesson people don't mind listening to!
Every President that assumes office in years ending in a zero has something bad happen to him while in the office. That is why some think Bush won't finish this term.....

The explanation is simple. With thousands of facts, from the important to the silly, like counting letters in names, there are bound to be coincidences. People look for the coincidences, but ignore the differences.
For example,
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
But Kennedy was assassinated in '63 and Lincoln in '65. Lincoln was killed in his second term and Kennedy in his first.
The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.
But John and Abraham don't contain the same number of letters. And Kennedy used his middle initial and Lincoln didn't.
Kennedy and Lincoln have some interesting coincidences, but you can pick any 2 presidents at random and find plenty of conincidences.
