You know... These lists are mildly interesting, but if you REALLY want to post something, how about counting the number of BIDs at Bidville?

The majority of items sold on BV are BIN or Buy It Now items and the bids never show. They should change the name to "BinVille".

replaymedia the sell rate at bidville is at an all time low running at 0.4%-0.6% I wish they would have another unsuccessful sale to boost the numbers.

On another note next week will mark 6 months of stats. Starting in February the stats will be posted bi-weekly due to the stagnation at the site.

Well, from what's posted above, the numbers look fairly stable/static. Not much growth or loss. I assume this is from the larger dealers "warehousing" their items.

What exactly is the "Showcase Bookseller?" It is a special promotion (how do you promote what's already free?) or the name of a really big seller?

The seller has 299,000 books that are VERY overpriced and worthless. BV gave him a special section and divided it up into alphabetical sections. The mega book seller breaks the BV TOS by saying the books may already be sold. The BV mega book seller does not have any premimum memdership and may be in with the regular $10/yr crowd.

replaymedia the numbers look stable, but if you look at the stats from a year ago you can see the "other items" have been dropping by 1,000 listings a week. The only area of growth are sport cards.

Tooltimes I think bidville has this seller to bump up the listings. Starting in February the book/video section of my stats will become "book showcase". The other 30,000 items will be added to "other items".

When did bidville start letting people list things for 60 days?

60 Days?????? Wow I guess the warehousers would like this. Could you see a bidder bidding on a item with 50+ days left?

It's my understanding that the book warehouse is the ONLY seller that can list for 60 days and all of the book are buy it now. Froogle, book warehouse, all buy it now, 60 day listings. Very interesting.

Response to email sent to Bidville...

Hi,

The length of auction for the book seller is a glitch. It will be
corrected soon.

A planned glitch maybe. The book storefront guy has this TOS Terms: Our dealers regularly update their stock, however sometimes the books may have already sold and will not be available at time of purchase.

This may be against Froogle rules and might get BV tossed out of the Froogle program. That reminds me that I better email Froogle about that.

Okay, let's see if I have this straight. You guys/gals/whatever are not trying to detract folks from Bidville, and are not trying to destroy the site in any way, and are NOT fearful that the site may succeed,

BUT...

You are willing spend all of your spare time on an aggessive "Froogle email campaign", in order to try and get Bidville dropped from Froogle. (Not to mention all the other straw-grabbing that you engage in.)

I guess that might make sense to you, considering...

But my question has to be: why are you so afraid of the possibility of Bidville's success?

Seems like that question has been raised before, many times, by many people. Hmmm

Yellowbudinski, It's because we love the hobbit-like gentle citizenry of BV that we are trying to spare them any dashed hopes brought on by their corrupt shire mayor. It's very sad to see them get excited over a scheme that will probably never materialize anyway.

Thanks, that reminds that there are may BV sellers that charge for the use of PayPal which is illegal. You better go away before more infractions come to mind.

Would you like to discuss the many Ebay, Yahoo, etc... sellers that ALSO charge for using Paypal?

Tooltimes, are you telling me that I can't post here? Or perhaps threatening me?

Does it bother you that much when someone interferes with your "crusade to save the world from Bidville"?

You can sit here and list Bidville "infractions" all night long. lol! You'll not list many that aren't found on any other auction site.

And in case you haven't noticed, most of us out here are "grown up" enough to realize that.

Yellowbud is correct. Your obsession with destroying Bidville is more obvious than ever. You are willing to dig for the needle in that haystack, no matter how dirty you get.

And you're wrong. Yellowbud and Cuff are pretty much tied for being class acts. You could take lessons from them.

Yellowbudinski differs from Cudd because Cudd pays a monthly membership and currently sells at BV and Yell does not. Therefore, other than buying doodads at BV, Y'all is only in it for the message boards at BV.

ROFLMAO!!!!! Oh my! You need to get your facts straight before you start spouting off. I've been a Premier Plus member at Bidville since the memberships began, and have NEVER stopped selling there since. (I only use one username at Bidville, always have and still do.) I'm much more active at selling and buying there than I am on the message boards.

You haven't been doing your homework.

And by the way, it must make you feel so "big" to call people names when they can't come here to defend themselves. Yet another "grown-up" trait of yours.

But, it's sometimes very entertaining to watch "how low you can go" in your compulsive "crusade to save the world from Bidville". lol! ( just wondering...do wear a little suit with a cape...ah, never mind, that's too funny to visualize. )

I think people are giving way too much credibility to others words. How is posting your opinion (good or bad) on a message board that is barely read anymore going to affect a site in any way?

Can anyone show a case of postings on a auction-related message board that the results "destroyed" an auction site? Who closed their doors due the results of "obessive" attacks on an auction site?

If memory serves, the Bidville "Wars" have been going on for years, and Bidville is still there, and so is the opposition. Looks like a stalemate to me.

There is one BV seller that sells only class items and typifes what the other BV sellers should emulate.

Here is but one of his offerings ...

http://www.bidville.com/listings/details/index_asp.asp?in=3149080

Look at his other 6 pages of auctions too. If this seller were to sell everything that he has now listed on BV I do believe that he could pay of the National Debt.

I was tempted to ask my rich uncle Stanley for 65 milion for the artwork but the little red "x" instead of a photo is giving me second doubts.

Holy cow, out of 572 items for auction only 7 of them are under a grand, and only 39 of them are under 4 grand. Needless to say his positive 1 rating came from a purchase he made. LOL

On a more positive note a new record has been set at bidville. 411,114 nickel and dime sport cards almost a third of total listings. Incredible.

Tooltimes, (notice I use "grown-up" name calling) there's no Tooltimes at BV either. hmmm....

Does that mean we should assume that you are Bidsbids/Dimview, etc...?

Surely you're not so paranoid that you think EVERYONE is either dreamgirl or CuFF?

I am neither. And I assure you that there are more around like me, who are not them either.

Don't you just love those winky things! They say so much.
