Am I just in a cave or what! $12.00 fee? News to me!!!

I have pretty much ignored my $62.00 on my x.com acct, as nobody pays with it anymore, and I haven't found a seller who accepts it, so I just kept it there. THEN, when I get the email saying they are closing , I figure I had better request my check for my $62.00 before they decide to not give it to me. Imagine my surprise when I see my $62 is now $50! $12.00 SERVICE FEE!! Are they joking? I guess they can charge what they want (another touted as a "free service" but here are my complaints...

1. Where is the email telling about this "as of Nov. 6th" fee? I have searched my email files, and I never got one (I NEVER delete anything...)

2. Nowhere in my "account history", that I can find, shows this fee taken out! I have to search and I finally found it in the FAQ.

3. Is this just another way of getting all of the money that they can before they close?

Pretty slimy to me. I would have closed my account THE SAME DAY I got a $12.00 fee notification email. (Hmmm, I wounder why I didn't get one?)

So I guess if you are reading this and you missed the information boat like I did (I usually lurk in the ebay board), close your account today!

Also, did ANYONE recieve an email from x.com notifiying users of this fee? LMK, because my sister just dealt with a very rude "customer service rep" (oxymoron?) who said we all got notified. Two for two here did not, so I am wondering if anyone did?

I was never notifide when they started chargeing the $12 fee on acounts with less then $100 balance over the month I learned about it right here in these messages after the fact.

In fact I still have not received no farmal writen notice that my x.com account will be closed as of december 1 either I had to learn this second hand too.

When I went to open my new checking account at a local bank I was telling them about this they say it is the oddest behavior they ever head of about an FDIC insured bank.

It really should come as no surprise that no one has received notification. This company rarely does send out emails to users to keep them informed of changes.
