One of my buyer is not happy with his purchase and is sending back the item. He paid by credit card using Paypal. What is the best way to handle this? I don't want to send him a check or money ordr for the refund as I'm afraid he may then do a charge back. How does everyone else handle this?
Thanks
Kathy
I'm involved in a "refund" with a problem buyer who paid for an eBay auction with a credit card through PayPal.
I today sent a refund that included his bid price, postage/insurance/handling, and the return postage/delivery confirmation, but was very careful to refer to both the eBay auction number and PayPal transaction number in the "note" section.
This provides a complete record, relating seller's refund to the buyer's payment, for those cases in which a buyer may also initiate a chargeback for some "extra cash".

Hi, Very well done dim.
As long as you have documentation, ( proof )
that that you can supply to the credit card company that you did issue a refund to the customer. You need not worry. The cc companys normally give you 16 days to respond to a charge back before issueing.
Make sure all proof is clear.
