This is a follow up thread to "unite to get our money back". I noticed in another thread that paypaldamon has been promising to send affidavits to fill out for a refund on the PS2CART fraud. I was wondering if anyone has actually received this document. It was supposed to be sent early this week. I have received nothing. You know Damon, you are begining to lose one of the few allies you had in these threads. I have tried to contact paypal everyway I knew how. Finally after my umpteenth email and thousandth phone call, I received an email from Paypal that was not even close to up to date. Paypal knows exactly what is going on with Gametek. I think the people who have money vested in this deserve more than "it is tied up in legal investigation". Come on Damon, What is up!!!

Of course nobody has received any affidavit. Just like there is no information on Paypal about getting a refund from the Gametek mess. Paypaldamon was flat lying to buy more time and cause us to go over the 60 day CC limit. I for one will be simply calling my credit card company for a charge back if I wake up saturday morning (the 16th) and have recieved no info from Paypal. Then my saga will be over.

You know Tutam, I am with you. I am begining to wonder if Paypal just doesn't care anymore due to all the problems they have. Credit card companies are investigating them. Their consumer trust is in the basement. It may be they are throwing in the towel. With our money.

I received the PayPayl Affidavit... you have to get your signature notarized on it and mail it to them (which I did)

Hi,

They are working through the cases as quickly as possible and no user will lose money as a result of the case(s). Please be patient until they get to you. I do appreciate it.

I haven't received the "affidavit" but that doesn't surprise me. I ordered 3 PS2 systems w/ hard cases back in Oct. A little over 1000.00 for everything. Paid through paypal. I received the Gametek "Inquiry" back in Nov and answered every question. I got the auto response. Never heard anything since. Gametek called me because I sent them a letter stating I wanted a refund and to call me back. They did and told me that their acc. was frozen but not to worry that my order would be sent out. I called paypal and paypal told me Gametek would have to refund my money. What kind of service is that? I have since compleated the buyer protection form and still no response. Even after 6 or 7 calls. All I get is " I understand sir, I will get someone from the Dept. to contact you about your claim" For all I know I don't have a claim because everytime I call I get the same thing, I will get someone in that dept. to contact you. Now I call in tonight and get an email address to contact about my claim. WOW! Why didn't they tell me about that 2 weeks ago? I sent the money with the understanding that I would be protected. Now, I just need to get some service. Paypal takes a percent of every payment I receive now. That's fine with me as long as I can get good service. So far, I haven't and will consider going back to money orders. I guess I'm in the same sinking boat as everybody else. Seems like we all bought a tickit for the Titanic. The ship has sunk, and we are all floating in the freakin' water waiting......Depending on how this turns out will determine if I quit using paypal for good. So far, it is looking that way.

What "GameTek Inquiry" you received, please?

If PayPal knew in November that I might have lost my money, WHY am I only just now finding out for sure that there is a problem? I can only assume they WANTED me to go over my 60-day deadline, if they knew I had sent money to GameTek and didn't immediately inform me there was a problem.

I, a verified user, sent money to another verified user before Nov 10 and I can get no response from PayPal at all. When I post here about it, the whole thread gets deleted. I'm beginning to feel paranoid in addition to stupid.

How is it that most of us have not gotten our money back. The only ones who have are either new to these sites (Plants?) or people who I have a little trouble trusting their word. And of course Paypaldamon is gone again. Now we are hearing that Paypal is not even "sure they are refunding yet". Does anyone have any information, such as similar results from other sites, to try to confirm that Paypal has done and is continuing to do anything? I sent my order through Paypal back in Oct. I still have not received any word at all from them. This is beginning to smell again and everyone seems happy to sit back and trust Paypal becuase of a few possible token refunds. Is anyone over their 60 days to charge back on your credit card? The only thing that has happened to me is that Paypal has erased my entire history from my account. Good thing I still have screen shots of the transactions.

Here is a quote from Paypaldamon:

"We are complying with the requirements of law enforcement to prosecute the case and that is why we can't just send the money out of the account. We are devising an alternative method of reimbursement to compensate impacted users for the money."

"My understanding, at this point in time, is that an affidavit will be required, but all users will be notified of the requirements. Once the details are made known to me, I will be more than happy to post them here."

We now know that the law enforcemnet agency has now released the funds. Now let's see if damon is "happy" to post the details for us. Details such as time frames, why are things going so slow, and why did my whole history disappear from my Paypal account.
