Help! I am new to AW and am SO confused. I am trying to synchronize my inventory between what I downloaded to Sales Mgr Por from Excel to what is on-line on the inventory manager. Can anyone out there help me? Can I do this or am I imagining that I read this some where! Also when I am in my inventory manager on-line, can I copy one inventory item to make another inventory entry (not a listing...just an inventory entry). Thanks so much to anyone who can provide some help!!! K
The SMPro and online inventory were not design to synchronize, actually.
If you plan to use SMPro to create listings, you only need to copy items from your SMPro inventory to batches, schedule the created listings and then upload the batches.
If you prefer to use the online inventory to manage your listings, you can use SMPro to upload items to your inventory thus:
- copy items from the SMPro inventory to batches
- when asked about the "Site for Listing" select "My Store"
- if your AuctionWatch store is open, the items will show in the store as soon as you upload the batch; you can go to the online inventory then to adjust quantities
- if the store is not open, the items will just be copied to the online inventory
- you can edit the online inventory items, add the Site Specific information and launch or schedule listings.
Another way to upload items to your online inventory would be to click on the SMPro menu entry Edit > Preferences > Seller Options, choose Business Tools and check "Add batch listings created in SMPro to online inventory". Any listing that you create and upload with SMPro will thus be copied to the online inventory.
As for copying inventory items, I would suggest creating 2 identical listings in the SMPro batch and uploading them both.
