Hi Jose,
I looked at some of your listings -- it's not anything that you are doing wrong, it's the way that eBay sizes images down for the Ipix picture preview and the gallery. You might want to contact them if you are really curious as to how they shrink their images, but the 'click to enlarge' picture preview should not have any affect on that.

Hi Sonya,
Thanks for your reply.
BUT I think it is a Vendio problem, because:
-- This is happening ONLY with ALL eBay sellers using Vendio Image hosting and eBay Gallery , with Vendio option
" Automatically scale down large images for faster download and cleaner presentation "
and with the Vendio option
" Photo Preview - Select an image that will appear in all your eBay listings in the upper left corner - Use your first listing image".
-- This is happening only with VERTICAL images ( when vertical dimention is bigger than horizontal dimention ).
-- Please also check other eBay sellers using these otions , for exemple : expertweb , city-collectables .
I think it is a problem with the new VENDIO otpion of automatic adding an image to eBay ipix image hosting. When the seller has this option and also the scale down option, the VERTICAL images are also scalled down on eBay Gallery. It happens ONLY and with ALL eBay/Vendio users !! So I suppose it is a Vendio programming bug. Right ??
I used one of your images and left off the image resize feature. If your images were wider than they were vertical, it would fill up that whole space for Ipix and gallery.
Regards,

Hi Jose,
I know what you are talking about now. The image being used for Ipix is what is submitted to the gallery. Since you have vertically long images, those are compressed with the white bars on the side to fit the ipix space window, which in turn get compressed a tiny bit from the top and bottom for the gallery. That is why some of your images look fully surrounded by a white border. If you want to correct this, take the URL for the image and submit it to the eBay gallery correction form for the item:

Hi again Sonya,
Thanks again for your answer wich I understand but I don't agree with it because:
1.- Do you expect someone with 300/400 auctions/week go revise all these auctions "manualy" ?
2.- If the reason you say are correct, why with the HORIZONTAL large images does not happen the same thing ? These Horizontal images are also compressed with the white bars on the top/bottom to fit the ipix space window, which in turn DOES NOT get compressed a bit from the left and right for the gallery.
3.- Why don't Vendio submit a different image to the Gallery than it does to the ipix ?? Or way does not Vendio have an option to do it automaticly ?
4.- Also in the eBay link you provided I do not have an option to add un URL
5.- Where shall I take the URL for the 1st image , for instance, in my auction 2188002737 ??
Sorry this long "talk" but my eBay Gallery looks terrible and it is a waste of my money like this !!

Hi again Sonya,
Perhaps this may help:
With Sales Manager Pro, with the new template I'm using, when I do a preview, the vertical images are distorted and they seems higher than they really are. But after lauching to eBay, inside dercription field, they are ok .
Still waiting for an answer about the eBay Gallery Vertical compression problem.
This was launched using one of your images as a test to show you that the Ipix Vertial image compression is a limitation by eBay. It doesn't matter if you submit through us, use 'click to enlarge' or submit directly through eBay -- the way the image is compressed to fit into the alloted space for Ipix will give it those bars on the side if it is a vertial image. It doesn't appear that way for horizontal images because the ipix box is in fact horizontal.
I gave you the gallery image link in case you wanted to resubmit those images to the gallery. If you want to resubmit your Ipix picture, you'll need to edit the listing to find the field for the Ipix URL. However it won't really make a difference because as you can see from the link above, it's a compression limitation that is set by eBay.
If you have any further questions about this please let us know.

Hi Sonya
I'm not refering to the ipix images !!
I'm talking about the eBay Gallery, the one we pay extra 25 cents .
I have now on eBay 2 types of listings:
1- Some ( auctions ) using the new Vendio templates
2.- Others at my eBay shop ( originaly using vendio about 3 months ago, and after I relist them directly on eBay )

Hi Jose,
Our apologies for the confusion, however the ipix image and the gallery image is one and the same. As mentioned in your eBay Site Specifics page where you elected to have us submit your items to the eBay ipix location: "(Please note that this image will replace your gallery image for your items, if you have that eBay option selected.)"
If you were only using the eBay gallery option, it would not be an issue, however since you have opted into the ipix workaround we have made available, the ipix image becomes the gallery image, and is no longer the one hosted by Vendio.
