Finally was able to get SMPro 7.0.1 loaded. Today I entered 15 listings, tried to synch and upload, it just sits there saying "preparing to synchronize". Waited 15 minutes, it didn't budge at all. When I was in the middle of the update to 7.0.1 mess, it appeared to synchronize but then didn't. I kept trying and when it got straightened out, all the listings in the batch were triplicated-Ebay charged me for every listing. Not willing to see that movie again. What do I do now???????

Hello,

Click to save the current batch, then exit the application and restart.
Go to the website and confirm that it hasn't uploaded any of the selected items and if not, click to upload this specific batch again.

If it fails, click the 'details' button on the synch window and let us know what it says.

Christopher

Followed your directions. Still says "preparing to synch" - details say "starting banner". Then comes up with Norton warning about AMPro.exe attempting to connect to DNS server. Have clicked the "always allow this" and checked in Norton, still happens. Also, when I exit SMPro, it will not allow me to re-enter without restarting my computer. Another fun day---

Hello,

It sounds like part of the SMPro application was added already to Norton's 'block all' list.

It should have only asked what you wanted to do about it the first time you ever went to synch. If the message still comes up from Norton, something must be amiss.

Check the firewall settings in Norton and remove any blocked programs showing SMPro.

It will probably look something like this:

Followed suggestions again - Norton was showing AMpro blocked (I did not do this-no ideas on how it happened) Changed to "permit access" and tried to synch again, no luck. Turned firewall completely off, tried to synch again, no luck. Keeps saying it is preparing to synch; details say "starting banner synchronization." Just hangs there doing nothing. Back to you ---

I am running Nortons also...no problem sycnhing...just tried it...have you rebooted after turning off firewall? If so, did it reload the original settings in the firewall program?

Rebooted-checked Norton, still showing firewall off, nothing else changed.

I will try again later. If no luck, will give it a rest and try again in the morning. If no luck then, will just go directly to Ebay and get my listings done. It would have to be easier than this --

Hello,

After you found SMPro being listed as blocked again, switching it to allow it should have certainly taken care of the problem.

When you say that you changed it to 'permit access' - was there another option to say 'permit all' instead?

Also, double check that you don't have any other firewall applications setup. Perhaps something else is still blocking the program from being able to access the web.

Does any part of the synch process complete prior to it hanging?

If nothing outside of the very first part of communication is able to connect, something on the PC end is still denying its ability to reach the internet. If even a few steps are completed prior to it hanging, then a firewall won't be the issue as some data is able to be transferred.

(If there is some data transfer prior to it halting, check your Program Files folder for a Vendio directory. Open it and look for an SMPro log file. Email this text document to [email protected] so we can check the details.)

Christopher

1: Did check the "permit all" box

2: Checked everything many times-no other firewalls

3: Completely disabled Norton-still no synch, same old thing - does not even start synch, just says "preparing to synch", on detail page says "starting banner synch", then just hangs there. If I turn Norton back on, it will show the Program Control page again, but when I check the firewall, it shows that AMPro still has the "permit all" checked

4: No problem with an any other programs or accessing anything else on the internet. Ran my regular Norton scan plus spyware scan just in case of any other problem-no problems found.

5: When I close SMpro, the page closes, but if I try to open it again, it shows a "Already Running" box, and I can't close that without restarting my computer.

Am wasting way too much time and energy dealing with this. Problems all started with the updates-no other problems anywhere on my computer. Will do my small batch one at a time directly at Vendio today. I need to do larger batches and keep my store with more inventory, and now I'm unable to do this. For future, am investigating using Ebay programs and will complete switchover to them when my Store listings expire.

Hello,

It is possible that in Norton you can turn off the following option and get the SMPro software to synch again:
"Turn on Automatic Program Control"

Although our records are indicating that you have since been able to synch your copy of the program.

Have you been able to get the program running again, or did you end up using a different computer to get it to synch?

Regards,
Christopher
