I need to send my laptop in to have a fan replaced and don't want to leave any passwords on the laptop so I am wondering where to go in SMPro to remove any identifying information and can't remember where to do that. I don't store any on the laptop or my pc but know when I open SMP that I don't have to log on so it is stored somewhere and probably also my ebay id with it? I don't really want to uninstall the whole program just make sure there are no traces of my ids and passwords. Anen't they stored somewhere in that program help please. Appreciated muchly so I don't have to stay on that laptop too long to just find and remove traces.

Hello,

Your password in SMPRO is encrypted, and there wouldn't be a way for someone to access it via the directory manually.

If someone did want to however, they could launch the program while connected to the internet, then click to synch to the Vendio website and use the 'control panel' link to pull up the account via a browser. (and then, if they spent enough time digging, they could in theory change your default email address to one of their own, log out and click to send the password reminder, then log back in and change your Vendio password to something else.)

They wouldn't however be able to gain access to your eBay login details, as we only store tokens from eBay at this time, no actual username/password details.

So if someone really spent enough time on it and was passionate about finding and changing your password via SMPRO, they could, but its highly unlikely.

If you wanted you could simply remove the 'data' file from the Vendio directory in your Program Files folder, but you would have to start over again once you logged in. Your batches would be saved, but otherwise you would be starting from scratch when you logged back in. (you would have to re download the images so they synch properly)

Regards,
Christopher

I finally talked to the tech support and they said to make a guest account with administrative privilages and they said that my part of the PC would be private but I am not so sure of that as the program could be still accessed. I will have to check that part out if it can be accessed I will just uninstall it all together then start over. Oh well was a good thought. But I think all stuff is accessable through safe mode anyway with an administrative account. Just not my email things I think.
I think you could copy the file to an external drive then put it back? will see about that too I guess. At least you told me which file to remove.

Thanks will look into everything.

Hello,

Removing the 'data' folder and storing it elsewhere, then replacing it would work. Just be sure to copy it back into the Vendio directory prior to relaunching the program again.
