My old Windows Vista, Service Pack 2, computer recently died so I purchased a new one equipped with Windows 7.
I was able to load SM PRO with no problem but it kept going down. I tried to use the Windows 7 compatibility trouble shooter but was told SM PRO was an incompatible application. This information not withstanding, SM PRO does work on this computer. However the connection is fragile and it goes down a lot. The compatibility trouble shooter keeps recommending using Windows XP, Service Pack 2, settings, not Vista settings. I tried this but still get the incompatible system message and frequent system malfunctions.
The bottom line is that I can use SM Pro on my new computer, but it is not working properly.

Hello Doug,
Windows XP SP2 (not 3) does seem to be the most stable for running programs designed for XP on Windows 7. Right click your SMPRO icon and go back to the compatibility tab, then go to the bottom of this and also check the box to run the program as an Administrator.
Without running it as an Admin I was running into issues while trying to upload and save batches, though the rest of the functions in Pro seemed to work perfectly. After switching to Admin mode it seems to stop the problems with saving and uploading batches.
Let us know if this doesn't seem to work and if so, what your doing when it fails and what the message says (if it's from Pro, the windows message always says the same thing.)

Hello Chris:
I have been running SM Pro as an administrator with the Windows XP, Service Pack 2, settings. I have no problem uploading or saving batches. Where I have difficulty is when I go to open a new batch after saving or uploading. I get the standard message about a problem occurring and SM Pro needing to close. I have not yet lost any work but I have to keep restarting SM Pro to get all my batches uploaded.
This is more of an aggravation than anything else, but it does not inspire one with confidence.
