Hello,

Can you confirm which category/site specific is missing from the list, that is currently available at eBay? We can then confirm that it's missing from Vendio and that it's on the list of updates scheduled to happen.

I don't even know where to find a list since Vendio does not have them available
I know that in sweaters there is now 2 lines for both color type and shade
a line for designer and differenet styles

in vintage they have added color
there are like hundreds of changes and every time I do a synch in vendio I check and not a single change

why don't you know about this?
ebay announced it a while back and those who do not use the new item specifics will be left out of search
and items that have a new category will probably error and not even list

it scares me that Vendio not only doesn't know about this-- Vendio should have notified ME about the changes!

I have been with Vendio for many years and many thousands of dollars and I depend on you to update as ebay does.
check here for starters....

Hello,

Thanks for confirming the category you found some of the new items specifics missing from.

We will be sure that the engineers are aware that there are some new specifics missing from that category.

Sorry for any confusion on my part for asking which category of yours was effected - that is NOT to say the engineers were unaware that category changes were made. In fact there were a number of categories that eBay changed recently and all of these have been imported/updated the day the changes took plce. Unfortunately during the automatic updates that were done some of the item specific changes that were made did not get picked up properly (there were a few missing from one of the Camera and Accessory categories as well.) We will be sure to get the new options available on the listing form as soon as possible.

Thanks again for bringing the missing item specifics for sweaters to our attention, we will make sure the engineers have this category already on their list to manually update.

Chris

thanks
there are many more changes beyond the ones in sweaters
for instance all of the sizes have been changed from misses to regular
and I have not gone in and checked all of the item specifics in each vintage category
yet but I think color is the big addition in most

is there a full list of all changes meade for me to look at?

Hello,

That is correct, there were a LOT of category changes in a number of categories - not just sweaters or the above mentioned camera's.

Unfortunately if you were listing to a particular category number for an item and eBay has completely removed it and replaced it with new options - those items would fail to list unless you edited them to select the newly available category options.

eBay's full list of category changes is available here.

there is still no update to item specifics and no announcelment from vendio about this
every single item I list through you will fail to launch as of May 9
as per ebays announcement:

"Starting May 9, 2011, required item specifics will be identified with a green asterisk. You'll be required to provide this information before you can list your item. If a required item specific is not provided, you'll see a message asking for the information prior to proceeding with your listing. "

I have been revising my FP listings in ebays turbo lister which has all the new item specifics available, why am I not able to get these in sales manager pro?

among the many changes-- every single clothing category has removed misses in size and replaced with regular
every color is now in 2 parts-- the color and the shade
there needs to be an item specific for brand in all categories of clothing except vintage

in sweaters pullover is no longer there and all crews v necks etc need to be added to style

I need to know if and when Vendio is going to update these item specifics!

I am not talking about category changes I am talking about item specifics.

all clothing listings on ebay will be and are already unsearchable without these item specifics

my STR has plumeted since these item specifics have gone live 2 weeks ago+

please give me some indication of wether these item specifics will be updated and when

so I am sorry if this is a bother but I am concerned that you may not be aware of the difference between changes in categories and changes in item specifics

if your tech dept is not working on this I need to know
becouse i will have only a few weeks to find a new listing solution and I have been with vendio for many years-- I do not want to leave
but in the past you have always been on top of ebays changes
if not now I need to know

Hello,

All of the updates should be live already. Note that you may find some of the options in the area we label as 'custom item specifics' and not in the usual generic 'item specifics' because of some changes to how those options are selected during the listing process. Note that when you select the color and shade options from here they map to the same spot as selecting color and shade in the generic item specifics section of the regular eBay listing form.

If you have a specific item specific that you need to specify and cannot do so via the custom or regular item specifics please let me know which one it is so I can verify with the engineering team if anything is missing currently.

what are you talking about?
not one thing has updated in my sales manager pro program
I open a new item listing and the item specifics are exactly the same as they have been for years
not a single change
how do I get the updated item specifics?
in the past all I do is synch and any changes are brought in
I use sales manager pro
all my items are listed off line through inventory manager, saved in batches and uploaded in a synch

this is going to end my business completely on May 9 becouse not a single item specific ebay requires is available to me
I need you to give me specific instruction step by step how to get thiese item specifics
clothing categories
seweaters dresses vintage childrens-- all the clothing categories

Hello,

My apologies, I do understand the issue your running into now. Sales Manager Pro has never been able to offer support for what is called 'Custom Item Specifics' as they are not fixed values to choose from - rather suggestions that eBay makes based on what other sellers have entered into these fields in recent history (and you can optionally enter your own value's here when one of the suggested value's isn't something you want to use.)

Unfortunately that means that all of the options in site specifics that do make use of those Custom Item Specifics would only be available to edit/select when listing from the regular fully featured Sales Manager on the website and not from within the old Sales Manager Pro software.
Take a look at how the fields and options look when you create a new item from the regular online Sales Manager, or when editing an item during relist or editing an item from the pending section.

There is no version of Sales Manger Pro that will be available to support Custom Item Specifics, so going forward your going to want to start listing and storing your data on the regular Sales Manager tool. For items you have saved offline in batches and not in your online inventory, or Active, Pending or Closed section - you could upload these items unscheduled to place them into the pending section and once pending you can edit to add the values available in Custom Item Specifics.

Chris

what is "regular fully featured Sales Manager " ?
I have been using sales manager pro for more years than I can remember and I don't know what your refering to?
as I asked before please give me instructions on how to get these item specifics step by step.

will this online sales mananger be able to use my 100s of listings saved in inventory manager that are the "templates" to all my listings? the main reason i went with Vendio is that I could work off line.

why have they decided to stop updating?
when item specifics were added to ebay, Vendio updated, when item specifics added item condition, vedio updated to follow ebay

are you phasing out your listing tools for customers like me?
are they really refusing to keep up with ebays changes?

by "regular fully featured Sales Manager on the website " do you mean where you can click on creat listing at the upper left corner?
are you tripping?
that is like using ebays sell your item form!

sales manager pro is aone page pre filled templated 3rd party listing software that I pay dearly for.

I need someone to contact me or I need you to reply to me more rapidly and with more detail

can I import my inventory manager into this old fashioned online lister?
every single item I list has a pre filled description, title, category, item specifics all I do is add pictures, add a few keywords to the pre written titles and add size numbers to prefilled descriptions and a few added descriptiove words.

using the online version as pfar as I can see would mean each item would have to be done from scratch or cut and pasted
why would I pay Vendio for that?

please either explain to me how to use my prefilled listing templates/inventory manager or ask the techies why they have decided to stop updating along with ebay which is why I and I imagine all your other customers pay to use vendio.

going in to pending is not an option either since there is no edit feature available
one would have to go in and make a copy in order to get a page that is editable.
is there some other screen I am not seeing to do this from?

even so to have to go through and use the drop down menus on item specifics for each listing is crazy-- I list 2-300 items a month

Chris

this is a serious issue that will cause me to loose the ability to list on ebay which is how i make my living
if you do not know the answers to my questions please direct me to some one who can
I can not wait 24 hours or a week for replies
over the years I have always found vendio made these updates automaticly so it never occured to me that you would phase me out with no notice.
i am still not convinced you understand what these changes are
you say:

"Sales Manager Pro has never been able to offer support for what is called 'Custom Item Specifics' as they are not fixed values to choose from - rather suggestions that eBay makes based on what other sellers have entered into these fields in recent history "

ebays announcement this spring about the new item specifics requirements are fixed values-- just revised and added to the already fixed item specifics in those categories
this is not about what others have entered in recent history or extra keywords added for fun-- this is the new item specifics required to list
just like they added item condition as a prerequisite to list
the specs are limited and specific
style names, size values, color fields, brand box

if you are not updating sales manager pro then you at least need to add an edit button to the pending page to allow one to go in and add the item specifics from your " custom specs" drop downs

your custom specs are extremely difficult as they have too many options to sort through
ebay has extremely fixed values in their choices for specifics

can they add an option to save certain customn specs as a profile that can be accessed on the pending page and reused??

it is hard for me to beleive that Vendio is not offering any kind of support for this and also that they did not even bother to announce that all customers using vendio would loose listing capability

am I the only paying clients who use it for listing to ebay?

it will be completely useless as of May 9 unless some kind of support is added

please get back to me about this

hi
I just did a small batch of items using the method of uploading with " don't schedule" and added the specs and scheduling online--
it was not bad.

tomorrow I will be working with my assistant and getting her started on getting acquainted with the online version

looks like a lot of work ahead but not impossible
thank you so much for calling and giving me these workarounds
it took so much worry off my mind

I would like to repeat a request which is to have clickable or selectable thumbnails online
theres no way around how much time clicking to see each thumbnail will be and I imagine other customers will appreciate it too
for those of us doing quantity, pictures need to be chosen via thumbnail

crossing my fingers on that!
thanks again
Joyce

hi Christopher
we are using your workaround but finding that adding the item specifics listing by listing is very time consuming
is there any chance that tech is considering adding visual thumbnail search to the online version?
the thumbnails are already visible to the left if you select a pic name but not clickable themselves.

if this little detail was available we could convert to the online version and migrate our inventory templates which could include pre chosen item specifics.

I have been wrong about this in the past but don't you think your other customers need clickable thumbnails too?

the new requirements are wreaking havoc in so many ways but the added time per each listing is a big one for me-- I need to compensate my assistant for the additional time and those drop down menus are huge-- on ebay they correspond to your category but on Vendio each drop down contains every possible choice-- very time consuming
thanks
Joyce

Hello Joyce,

I am sorry for the trouble you are having using the online version of our services. Unfortunately, I do not have an eta available for when changes might be made so that the thumbnail images are viewable without clicking on them first.

In regards to the custom item specifics, do you tend to sell in a limited number of categories, or do you sell in a large number of different categories? If you sell in a limited number of categories, what you might want to do is create a pending listing for each category to use as a template (without launching the listing). Then you can create a copy of the pending listing when you are listing to that category, with the required fields already selected.

We are working on making it more clear which custom item specifics are required when creating a listing, however because of the way eBay made their changes this is more complicated than it might seem.

Nathan

hi Chris and Nathan
I wonder now that ebay has made the brand field in IS complete in SYI and auto populate able
is vendio going to try and get this field completed at some point?

its not just about saving time but making sure I am using ebays exact spelling of brands

the recent errors on IS really devastated me
I thought I had til July 20 to make all these changes and now I am in deep trouble
I haven't really found the online version of sales manager or turbo lister to be viable
trying to test both at the moment
what a mess

Hello Joyce,

I am very sorry for the problems this is causing you. We are continuing to get ready for the change that eBay had announced would happen on July 20th. Unfortunately, the problems that you have been running into currently are due to a problem on eBay's end, and we are working with them to get it corrected. The changes that eBay made recently were not planned changes that should have been made at this point. Please see our announcement about this (if you haven't already):

hi Chris are you there?

I am trying to set up inventory profiles as you showed me to try and start testing the online version but it does not allow me to pre-fill any item specifics?
can you please give me instructions again?
I have * save in inventory from pending *check profile item * save* create with apply profile

but there is no way to prefill any IS into the profile
the whole point of our rather long exchange in May

is there anyone over there considering making these item specifics more user friendly?
the workaround you suggested that I am forced to use-- upload without schedule, edit one by one
even the time it takes to access the custom item specifics-- you have to click on each field name to open it and then click again to get the drop down ( no drop down on brand)
think about it -- there are about 7 lines of IS, thats 7 clicks just to open them and then 7 scrolls to add X 200-300 items or more a month

if I could set up profiles with IS pre filled I might be able to work with this but I am not seeing how and since ebay just moved the july 20 due date to last week-- I really need help here

I get that Vendio is phasing out sales manager but are they phasing out all CSA sellers?
at this point Turbo Lister may be the only option if I can't prefill IS and use profiles like the old inventory manager
thanks
Joyce

Hello Joyce,

I apologize for the confusion. This is not a case of eBay deciding to move the due date of July 20th to last week. This is a case of a bug in eBay's system that eBay needs to correct, which is causing these problems to happen.

In regards to item pre-fill (catalog) information, you would need to switch from the Sales Manager Merchandising Edition that you are currently using to the Sales Manager Inventory Edition. This change can be made from your Vendio account by going to "My Account" --> "My Service Plans" --> "change edition" (below "Sales Manager
Merchandising Edition" ). Please let us know should you have any trouble with this.

Nathan

hi Nathan
thanks for replying but you don't get it
I know that ebay didn't plan to move the date a month up
but it is effectively what happened since nothing will launch right?
its a figure of speech
I'm not changing versions until I know that is actually going to help
can you contact Chris please
I need to find a way to list and he already knows whats going on
this isn't about a prefilled catalogue this is about item specifics in CSA, this is about transferring all my inventory from sales manager to this Dinasaur of a system you have online
Chris-
the only way I can get IS into profiles is by creating them as listings and then re saving them
again-- is that the only way? thats like creating them 3 times. I have about 150 in my inventory manager
you can't seriously mean that this is the best that can be done?
sorry I'm really not happy about this and Nathan please do not answer it will only piss me off. thanks.
then
the gallery pic does not automaticaly get chosen from the 1st pic
you have to manually choose it?
in sales manager whatever your 1st pic is will automatically be the gallery picture
again
the picture browser online is insane
I know I already established that I can't use it but I have to use something and its really setting in that it is comletely useless
you can only see one teeny tiny pic at a time
are you seriously telling me your customers can deal with that?
why would you throw away such a powerful image hosting system?
do you actually have customers that list?
or do they just upload some bar code from a drop shipper?
as far as I can tell this online version is not a bulk lister at all
Chris whenever you are back on duty please contact me
thanks
