I have been using sales mgr pro for 12 years now...

I cant understand why you have not fixed this glitch as "item " specifics has been needed since last spring to launch clothing, pocketbooks, shoes, video games, video game systems etc onto ebay .

The auctions error out and wont launch onto ebay . Then, I have to then go into each one manually and add more item specifics which you are available to select and enter from the " pending " screen of my sales manager .

Why is this field not on your sales mgr pro program allows - big waste of time and effort ? (and it is not just the small pop down next to "browse" which is under "category" on the 2nd page of the lister) where it says "item specifics". Those are just basic and not enough to allow auctions to launch .

thank you
why is this ?

IT IS CALLED " CUSTOM ITEM SPECIFICS " ON YOUR ONLINE SALES MANAGER " WHEN IN PENDING AUCTIONS SECTION TO REVISE .

Hello,

EBay recently made a change to some categories where they have moved from using Item Specifics to Custom Item Specifics. Sales Manager Pro has never been able to offer support for what is called 'Custom Item Specifics' as they are not fixed values to choose from - rather suggestions that eBay makes based on what other sellers have entered into these fields in recent history (and you can optionally enter your own value's here when one of the suggested value's isn't something you want to use.)

Unfortunately that means that all of the options in site specifics that do make use of those Custom Item Specifics would only be available to edit/select when listing from the regular fully featured Sales Manager on the website and not from within the old Sales Manager Pro software.
Take a look at how the fields and options look when you create a new item from the regular online Sales Manager, or when editing an item during relist or editing an item from the pending section.

There is no version of Sales Manger Pro that will be available to support Custom Item Specifics, so going forward you're going to want to start listing and storing your data on the regular Sales Manager tool (at least for the affected categories). For items you have saved offline in batches and not in your online inventory, or Active, Pending or Closed section - you could upload these items unscheduled to place them into the pending section and once pending you can edit to add the values available in Custom Item Specifics.

Once eBay is done with the nonstop changes to these values, we *may* be able to add them as fixed choices into Pro - but for now you would need to list from the regular Sales Manager to use those fields when listing to the affected categories, unfortunately.

Regards,
Nathan

I did not realize that there is more than 1 sales mgt pro ..

"the regular fully featured Sales Manager on the website / tool " .

where do I find that version (link ) and is there a different / cost/ package for use of this program than what I have now ?

would i be listing off line like i do now with current sales mgt pro or online differently ?

what other differences is there with these 2 programs?

Hello,

You may access the online version of Sales Manager by going to http://www.vendio.com and then log in to your account. A new listing may be created by going to "Sales Manager" and then click the eBay icon below "Create Listing".

There is no additional charge to use the online version of our services. The service will look different, but essentially will do the same thing. You may list items that are one time items and not in a Store. Please start the process of creating a listing and let us know should you have any trouble with it.

Regards,
Nathan

WOW THAT IS THE SLOW BOAT TO CHINA WAY TO LIST AN AUCTION.. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE THE ADJUSTMENTS TO SALES MGR PRO ... I AM BETTER OFF LISTING DIRECTLY ON EBAY AND SAVE MYSELF THE FEES I HAVE TO PAY VENDIO EACH MONTH.

Hello,

Unfortunately there really is no web based program that can compete with the speed of an offline program, but there are things you can do to make it just as quick.

When your running an older computer on Windows XP, your better off using the Google Chrome browser than Internet Explorer. IE works, but it's painfully slow compared to Chrome on pages with a lot of data to display (like web based listing tools both here and at eBay.)

It's like anything else to, in that once you get the hang of the web based tools you can actually list just as quickly as you could from SMPRO. The lack of familiarity tends to give more of an impression of speed difference than the actual loading times.

Regards,
Chris
