Dear Vendio,
I've noticed and for some time now, that the search button included with my storefront doesn't work the same way my online vendio account, inventory search form does. These poor search capabilities and the disparity between them have existed, as mentioned even during the Auctionwatch days but they were never addressed. I'll give you an example. If you go to my storefront and do a search for the word Statehood, of which I have approx. 20 in inventory, only two items are returned. The same search while logged onto my account, in the inventory search form returns all of the appropriate items. Why the difference. I've had customers request items that were clearly in my store but could only be found be examining every page of my storefront, 8 pages worth. Customers will rarely be so patient. Please tell me why the Search feature is so weak, lame and useless. In addition, sometimes the searches come back with way too many responses. Please explain and thanks in advance for your replies.

I agree with Matt. Store Search text field still needs to be addressed.
I have 2000+ items and even with me knowing all of the limitations of the search field I have difficulty finding my own items... how is a customer supposed to find them.
Simple... they don't. They go away. We miss sales. We don't make money. Vendio doesn't make money on missed sales either.
Add me to the hat again on the search field improvement issue.

It would seem that Greg Williams is the only participant in the Storefront area. The Vendio Storefront, overall, is a great deal and it does function quite well, it's stable and easy for buyers to use. But the issues that need to be addressed seem to be, well, unattended! I guess there's just too much money coming in from the auction side. But you know what? That bubble is about to burst. Storefronts with longevity, that is the way to go for the future.
Best regards,
Matt
PS Where's Sonya and an answer to my search question!

Some of us are just tired of asking for the same things over and over. I have been a customer forever and could not even tell you when my first complaint/suggestion about Search capabilities/shortcomings in the storefront were voiced. I do agree with you that storefronts will be more profitable in the long run than auctions. But, it will cost us more in the long run. Most of us are willing to pay for stores that really deliver.
I apologize for being late with my response. The store search box only searches titles -- that is why only two are coming up. I will forward your comments to Product Development regarding this feature, and the possibility of adding a 'search title and description' box.
Hi - and I do understand that you are busy. Please excuse my "arm waving". I was just wondering why don't you pass along my idea to simply export the internal inventory search functions since they work well.
Also, I'd like to hear more about pluging storefronts into frames. I've done it without AuctionWatch permission. Of course I've had to alter the code but overall I still believe that this is a great way to code for people that can handle some basic html. [email protected]
