Hi, at the risk of sounding stupid, how do I find out what the url is for my store?
Thank you

Hi Paula,

if you are asking about the URL of your Vendio store, then it's simple:
http://shop.vendio.com/pgmeunier

Speaking of, or writing of the store URL, when will we be able to use our own Domain for the store URL? Could that be one of the first new store changes?

Hello Bill. Hope the morning mix-ups did not adversely effect you.

I asked on another of your threads how Adam got his domain name to show up in the url. Here is the response from Chris

Hi Beth,

This is typically called a 'Frame Redirect' Vs just rerouting the traffic to the storefront. Sometimes this can break your shopping cart, so if you set this up with your domain host, check to be sure you can add more than one item to an order in your storefront after setting it up. (it usually works just fine, but its something to watch out for.)

Since I take credit cards I didn't want to mess up my shopping cart. But I may give it a try if someone at GoDaddy can walk me through it.

Beth

Beth - I have tried to do a redirect w/grabber, or frame redirect in the past. The shopping cart does not function properly. Using the redirect, the cart will not accept two different items.

In fact, I noticed that adamrainoff's store, gem-id.com, does not have a working shopping cart with his redirect. So, I'm assuming that it just does not work at all.

Hello Bill,

Note that you *CAN* setup a frame redirect that will not break the shopping cart. Depending on your webhosting company, it seems there are a few different methods for setting it up, some work properly and others do not.

This is why its important to actually test your storefront out, using the redirect URL and not by just going directly to the Vendio storefront URL. Place a few items into your shopping cart, be sure all of the images load properly/etc.

I would go ahead and setup the redirect any way you can initially, as users will not be going to your storefront from that URL anyway until you start giving it out. This gives you a chance to test it and be sure its working properly prior to quitting. There is a way to make it work without ill effects, but you will want to work with us if you run into issues rather than just quit at the first sign of trouble. Were here to help, just let us know if you have trouble getting it setup, or making it work properly once setup if you have trouble doing so.

Regards,
Christopher
