I have flat rate shipping applied to all my items. One of my customers has several items in his cart, but his shipping comes out to $37 which is WAY higher than $7.50 (obviously).
Why is this one customer having shipping problems?
It depends on how the items are setup, and how your shipping discount rules are setup. Note that the shipping discounts show up during the checkout flow, so be sure you check the final cost before confirming the order to view the correct total.
Let us know a few of the items in question the user is trying to purchase and we'll be happy to check into it further for you.
Right now your shipping is setup to charge $7.50 for the first of a single item and $0 for additionals of the same exact item. Your shipping discount rules are not setup to provide any discounts on different items currently, which you can change from here: http://sell.vendio.com/preferences/orders.jsp
If your goal is to charge only $7.50 no matter how many items someone buys from your store, then set the fixed shipping discount at $7.50 off the shipping cost of each item. Save the changes when finished and you should be all set.

I have different suppliers set up with different shipping profiles.
Is there a way to create a shipping discount if a customer buys multiple items from the same profile but no discount (or a different discount) if they order items from different profiles?

Hello Matt,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to set up the shipping discount rules to depend on the shipping profiles that are used. It is only possible to have one set of global shipping discount rules.
